RSR guest policies...?

Just got back from 8 days at DLR and got the opportunity to ride RSR 6 times.:cool1:

I would reccomend that you DO NOT ride Maters as it whips you back and forth. The flying tires are like bumper cars if you can get the tires to move so would probably be a no also. On RSR there are not bumping or whipping back and forth and you do wear a seat belt so it would be a maybe. If you do ride it please make sure you are NOT in the middle seat position as it is a lap only belt, you would be more secured in the lap and shoulder belt for the banks around the racing.

Also on any ride you do ride on that has a lap belt make sure the belt is over your thighs and not over your soft tummy/baby bump. This is also the safest way to ride in any vehicle. Keep that belt under the baby for any sudden stops.

Oh and congrats on the new baby. :cheer2:

I am also pregnant and will be about 6 1/2 months by my next trip to DL in January, so I've been checking out these boards for a few months now. I was surprised when someone said that all 3 of the new rides in Cars Land were off limits to pregnant women. Not saying that is for sure, but also something to consider and look in to.

I'm sad to miss the new rides (we last went right before they opened), but I know we'll be back soon enough. It's taken me far too long to get pregnant that I will remain paranoid and avoid pretty much every big ride while there. We'll be going with my niece who will be about 14 months, so I think the 2 of us will have lots and lots of people-watching time.:woohoo: And snack time. :rolleyes1

congrats to you! i heard that too about the rides, checked the disneyland website with no information there so i figure i ask here.

When we went last year the boards were up and we knew by the time we came back it would be open. I was sooo excited. This baby was planned but I didn't think it would happen in the first month!!! I am definitely going to stay away from the jerky rides, I really don't want to risk it. My daughter will be 14 months when we go so I love that I'll be able to stay back with her on the rides not recommended for expectant mothers so my family and I won't have to figure who is going to stay back and ride later :)

As far as RSR, I didn't think that there would be a risk, seeing that it looks like a smooth ride with no jerks from side to side or any drops. I am going to ask my doctor to see what she says but I hope I can ride that one, if not there's always next year! What I am really going to miss out on is my favorite BTRM!

Thanks!!!

and thanks for the info on the rides in CL. I already figured Maters and Flying tires would be out of the question. Thanks for the advice about RSR! If I do get the "ok" from my doctor about that ride, I might consider it. Oh! great advice about the lap belts, that makes complete sense. I'll remember to not sit in the middle if I do ride. I figure if I don't ride, I can be the runner and get FP so my family can ride again at night (hoping they get on at some point during the day).

Again thanks for the advice!:thumbsup2

One of the things to keep in mind is that the height requirements and health advisories for attractions are often established not just because of the normal operation of the attraction, but because of what happens during abnormal operation.

For example, RSR may not seem bumpy or rough on an ordinary ride, but when the ride has to perform an E-stop while you're racing out side, it will slam to a stop, and do so in a matter of feet, hurling you forward into your seat belt. Big Thunder gives you a monster punch in the gut when it E-stops, even leaving big lap bar bruises on people.

Just something to keep in mind when evaluating what to ride and what not to ride. Think about how the ride may behave in an abnormal situation, since it can possibly happen.

Thanks for your comment. I have been on a ride that has stopped. That's good information to know! Definitely taking that into consideration!

Hey Michelle!

I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant (and SOOOO over being pregnant right now :rotfl2:) Anyway, I was looking forward to riding RSR back in July when I was 7 months pregnant and I had come across this warning for RSR:

Obviously it's up to you decide, but just thought i'd show this anyway. Congratulations! :goodvibes

Haha! I don't like the last few weeks either!!! Thank you for your post! A little bummed and was thinking maybe I could ride but another post thought of something I never thought if the ride were to break down! So I will be skipping it this year and get some mommy daughter time while the rest of my family rides :)

Congrsts on your pregnancy! Home stretch! Hoping for a smooth and easy delivery!
