RSR FP

I had no idea that the app showed FP distribution time! That is incredible!! I just took a look, RSR is out, HSM has 8:40-9:40 return times. This is crazy incredibly helpful, I'm so glad I saw your post!! :wizard:
My phone doesn't do well inside the parks for the app or maybe it's just me....
Then I call "Ask Otto" for the info.
It's nice to have options.

FYI - a strange thing happened when we rode RSR after 9 P.M. w/ fastpasses:

For a while, the fastpass line is the slowest moving line. This was a very strange feeling, in fact, I actually thought I may be in the wrong line for a couple minutes - since both the Stand-By line and the Single Rider line seemed empty and had people walking right past us. DON'T BE FOOLED, stay where you are, the FP line will catch up and pass the other two in short time.

Just thought I'd mention this as it was very unusual to be in the FP line with so many people passing us. We're accustomed to walking past everyone in the stand-by lines, it just felt strange. I think it has to do with A) the way the RSR stand-by line is laid out and B) the number of RSR FP's handed out every single day at CA.

I wondered how accurate the app was w FPs. I read in other threads that many times the app will say that a ride is out of FPs, but when you get to the machine at the park, there are still plenty. Good to know that I can pretty much rely on the app!

This happened to us last week. The app said RSR FP's were gone at about 11:10 A.M. but when we walked by at almost noon the sign said FP's were still available with return times of 8:45 to 9:45. The app is pretty great, but definitely NOT 100% accurate.

Toy Story Midway Mania should be the first attraction that you experience since there is no FP for it.
When to get RSR FP depends on how many times you want to ride it. If you want a chance to ride twice then you need to get a FP first thing in the morning and then grab the second FP before you use the first RSR FP. The problem with doing this is that you may miss out on using FP for the other attractions.
To be safe you should get a RSR FP by 1130am, it usually sells out around that time.

I would recommend....
Soarin FP first when the park opens then take Grizzly River trail towards Toy Story Midway Mania and ride it.
Then Screamin, Fun Wheel, and Goofy. Symphony Swings and Mermaid can wait for later as those attractions do not have the longest waits.
Then grab World of Color FP if you want to see that show, then ride Grizzly with no FP, grab a Frozen Show FP, then a RSR FP before you use the Soarin FP.
Then next FP you get after the 2 hour window should be Tower of Terror.

EXCELLENT post DLRExpert! This is great advice for anyone doing CA planning!

I was there this past Monday. It was an early opening. We got our fastpasses for RSR around 9:30 and they were for around 1:20

I'm curious - about how long do you think you waited in the FP line? Thanks!
