RSR Fastpass "sellout" time

Howdy,

Totally spur of the moment trip to Disney CA Adventure (never actually been) tomorrow - Friday 8/7 - to surprise some family who are vacationing there.

Wondering what time the RSR Fastpasses have been running out these days?

Driving up from San Diego (about 97 minutes from my garage to parking lot). Was planning on leaving at 6 AM, so about a 7:40 arrival. Park opens at 8 AM. Should I leave earlier to make sure we get RSR Fastpasses?

Everything after RSR is just gravy. Son loves Cars and will really want to see it (not even telling him where we are going or who we are going to meet). After that we're just there to spend time with family.

You should be just fine. I've been watching for the last couple of weeks, and they're been running out typically between 10:00 and 11:00 am, regardless of what time the park opened.

I agree with the above -- you should be fine to get RSR FastPasses if you do arrive when you plan.

Thanks! I'm up at 4:30 AM weekdays anyway, so this way I can get my jog in and let the little man sleep a bit before throwing him in the car. Appreciate the guidance!

You should be fine (even if you hit some traffic) - just make sure to get the FP first. (Keep in mind that Friday is an EMH for DCA, so there will be others in the park waiting for the FP kiosks to open)

This worked out great guys, thank you. Actually left around 5:30 AM and was in line at the park at 7:30, pulled fast passes right at 8:05 for 9:55 return. Pulled passes around 10:15 for 7:30 PM return. Then my son had an idea to get in line at 9:50 before leaving. Ride shut down, everyone left the line, and 10 minutes later it was up and running and we had a 3 minute wait. After a surprise day with his cousins, the highlight of his trip.
