RSR Fastpass line - does this work?

We aren't onsite, so we won't have early entry to California Adventure. If I understand correctly, though, we can get through the entry gates before the park opens, and at least get in line for RSR fastpasses at about the same time as the early entry folks. I'm wondering if this is allowed/frowned upon:

1) One of us (me, since my wife and kids move slower...) gets up early, gets to the park early (when - 7:30?) and gets in the RSR fastpass line that starts forming early. I should be toward the front of the line.
2) My wife and kids come later (getting there at 8:00 or so), find me, and give me their tickets.
3) I pick up fastpasses for everyone (

My other options are to try DLR29's technique (though I'm afraid something would go wrong...) or just have all of us get there early and try to keep the kids occupied for half an hour.

You plan should work, with the following thought. You will get in the FP line. They will move the FP line a couple minutes before 8am to start joining the EE FP line. Your wife won't have a hope of catching you if she gets there at "8 or so", she should have the tickets to you by 750a to make this work.

Glad this was asked as it was my question also. I will be doing this for 6 of us.

She should be there just before 8:00 at the very least. When I waited on Tuesday I made it through the line and was back at Carthay Circle by 8:20. On Thursday the line moved a little slower but I wouldn't take that chance. This trip we've been stuck behind large groups of people who had one day tickets for the opposite park and didn't understand why they couldn't hop a couple of times. Fortunately it wasn't at gate opening but you never know. Personally I'd make em them wait that extra 30 mins.

That's kinda' what I was going to add wenrob, if the kids can't handle a 30 minute wait they're going to have a tough time in Carsland. You didn't mention how old your kids are, so this may or may not be an appropriate suggestion; but if they're old enough, maybe you could use this as a teaching opportunity?

Or just take all of the tickets with you and have them meet you in the esplanade a little later.

This wouldn't work. Can't get fast passes with tickets that haven't been activated that day.

I was actually wondering the same thing! Except we do have EMH staying at the DLH. My DH and kids want to sleep as long as they can so I was thinking of getting to DCA during EE and getting in line for RSR FPs.

If they got to DCA by 7:45 would they be held back with the other regular entry visitors, or would they be able to get through to find me in the EE FP line?

They can move fast... DH, 15 & 9 year olds... they are just lazy and don't want to wake up. :-)

If it was me, why take the chance? Everyone get up early and stay together :) Then you know it will all work out. Well worth it I would think.

LT :)

Oh, good point, I had forgotten that. I wouldn't take the chance of getting to the front of the line and not have all the tickets. When we were there in the beginning of July the line moved quickly. We were really far back (near the Animation studios, almost to the street corner) and thought we would be waiting forever but it only took about 25 minutes to get to the front and get our FPs.

My DH went in about 10 min. before us. We just found him in line and gave him our tickets to get the FP.

We then went back to Paradise pier and rode GSS x 2 and Screamin in the time it took him to get the FP.

The 2nd day we did this, we rode Screamin, Mickeys Wheel of Death ( we can handle the most intense roller coasters, but thought the swinging side of this was terrifying!! LOL!) and Mater before he made it through the line!
