I've stayed at HRH twice and really liked the closeness to the parks, ease of walking to pool and shuttle boat, etc.

I'm booked at rpr for next month (memorial day weekend) as its $200 less than HRH for the stay. But am concerned about the size. Will we feel overcrowded at a hotel almost twice the capacity? How difficult will it be to get to the pool and water shuttle if we are at a far location? Is it a chore to get around?

Thanks!

you can check out the room size on the UO website.
compare the two hotels to see if you will be satisfied with rph.

very easy to get to the water taxi/pool when at rph.

Yes, thank you. I was hoping that someone could share their first hand experience versus room stats.

Thanks

i have 22 stays at HRH and 10 stays going on 11, at RPH.

i used to do standard/deluxe rooms but now, for most of my stays, i book king suite.

hrh has larger rooms than rph.
both have options of king, queen beds.

if you have 4 in your room, you will have sufficient space to fit everyone in either hotel room.

luggage can be placed in different sections in the room.
if you check the room layouts on the website, you can picture where your luggage can be placed.

if you are only using your room to sleep in, either hotel will do fine.
if you plan to use the room for half of the day, decide which hotel would better suit your needs.

rph has 3 towers.
elevators for those 3 towers stop also at the lobby and ground level.

from that point of building exit, the walk to the boat dock is 3 minutes tops.

hrh has exits from the side of the building and back.
if you are coming from your room to the ground floor by elevator, the walk to the boat dock is around the pool, and at the water edge.
you can also exit thru the side door, near the dog walk, to the boat dock.

hrh is the smallest onsite hotel of the 3.
but it is spread out and corridors split off.

you have corridors that shoot out into a Y shape at rph.

i prefer RPH.
i like it that there are 4 options (5 if you include room service) for dining in the building.
CityWalk/Margaritaville is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

HRH has Palms, Kitchen and Em & Bo for food.

For some reason, I always feel more crowded at the Hard Rock than at the Royal Pacific. It is extremely peaceful with a beautiful walk to the parks or a lovely boatride. I don't think you will feel crowded or hurried at all.

OP, we stayed at HRH the past two years and tried RPR this year. I have no desire to go back to HRH now. I liked the restaurants, theme and everything else at RPR.

Have a great time!

I hope this is not a silly question but from hrh how long is the walk to city walk...at a very leisurely pace.

The two times we've stayed at HRH, it took about 10 minutes to walk leisurely, or about 3-5 minutes by boat. The boat drops you directly at citywalk basically, while if you walk you have to cross over the bridge.
