Has anyone used Travelocity or Expedia to book their hotel reservations?

I called RPR, the only rate they have is $199.00 per night water view. They said there were no discount or promo rates. I ask for Ent rate and AAA also, & call a local travel agent, nothing. We really want to stay on property & HRH is booked. Travelocity & Expedia have RPR rooms listed for 129.00 & 159.00. Plus we will need to add a rollaway. Our family of four including two teenagers will be going the middle of October for 5 nights.

What is your experience with the online travel sites?
Have you had any problems adding rollaway, getting a room with the number of beds you need or two rooms together? I don't want to take chances with our vacation, but I would love to save some money. Thanks,

Have you tried called the lowes 800 #. It seems strange that all those discounted rates are taken up this far in advance. I book thru the 800 so if you have'nt tried maybe you could give that a shot. As for the rollaway bed I really would think that would be a prob. Once you book your room call the hotel directly and request the rollaway or connecting rooms if you go that way. As for advise I suggest asking about the PBH rooms. I say this because you may can get a bay view room at PBH for 159 with entertainment and you IMO, would be stepping up a grade in rooms as these are large and will likely accomdate your rollaway better. Also, I believe you can get two queens and a sofa pull out for that price. Just a thought maybe your going in the wrong directions with what's available to you. The PBH usually freaks people looking for good deals out with there first glance prices. But we would have stayed at the HRH too if they were'nt booked up instead I got rooms at PBH during the July 4th holiday for 180 a night! That was a deluxed pool view btw.

I have check the loews website for rates, between 198.oo & 249.00 a night. I haven't check on PBH, but I will. Thanks for the help.

If you give them a call you might get more info on the discounts available to you. Good Luck

Thanks, PartyofSix. I called Loews and also Universal. They both had garden rooms at the Portofino Bay Hotel for 150.00 (ent rate). I never thought we could afford PHB. The Loews operater said that the 2 queen bed rooms did not have a sofa bed only the king rooms. So we will still need a rollaway. But your advice will save us over $200.00. THANKS :Pinkbounc
