At rpr- any experience with room service- thinking about it as it might save time in the am while getting ready to go to the parks

Do they offer some sort of quick serve there

Will there be a gift shop that sells- sunscreen, the spray kind and universal gifts. Can't fly with sunscreen since we don't check out bags.

Any help us greatly appreciated.

Just added a day at us last night for our trip next week!! Need any info we can get. Thanks!

Room service is good, in our experience. There is quick service in the morning for breakfast down in the Orchid Court. It is probably faster to just send somebody down there. They service normal quick service breakfast items and some breakfast sandwiches.

There are two gift shops and both sell sunscreen. Target has some travel sized spray sunscreen that is under $1.

A general thought about the gift shops -- if you're used to the gift shops in Disney hotels, you may find that there is a much smaller selection of merchandise in the gift shops at Universal hotels. There's not a lot of things like T-shirts and postcards.

I seem to recall that RPR had one gift shop near the lobby and one outside near the pool.

If you need universal gifts, you'll probably want to get them in the shops at the theme parks or City Walk.

Just a tip about postcards/notecards.... There are free ones in your room in the leather information book. They are really cute too!!!

Sunscreen. I use coppertone sport and ocean potion. OP comes in containers that are under 100 ml so they can go in a baggie. I bought several 100ml (that's the actual allowed amount...3.4 oz/100ml) bottles with stickers stating that amount is what can be held in them, and decant a bunch of the coppertone into them. Works really well for a shorter trip or just to have it on hand without waiting for checked bags.

100ml/3.4oz is really quite a good amount and you can fit upwards of 5 bottles (at least the ones I bought at safeway) in a baggie. And can save you some really expensive themepark sunscreen purchases, or at least delay them.

We've ordered room service from them and although pricey-(what isn't these days)-the food was very good. For your AM time management, place your order the previous day/night and leave on door or drop off at front desk.

As for Gift Cards, I buy most of ours way before our trip, they're now available on the Universal web site and offer free shipping. All sorts of cool themed designs too! Each kids gets their own card, put in their own lanyard.

Thanks everyone. We really appreciate the info. We will pack tonight for our trip this week. Work week will be too busy.

I never thought to put my liquid sunscreen in a 4.4 oz container.

Should be a great trip. We are really looking forward to it. :)
