I just read on the DIS site that RPR is undergoing renovations, does anyone know if the renovated rooms will be completed by september? Also, whats being renovated? Similar to the HRH?

Also, i can't seem to find the answer to this question: Is there a "continental" type breakfast offered at the RPR for those who are looking for a quick inexpensive meal?

Thanks!

We just got back from PB yesterday but I took my mom over to see the RPR while we were there. I did notice a continental breakfast for sell in the lobby area.

Nicole786, I actually spoke with a rep at RPR and she confirmed that refurbishing should be completed in June. Don't know the answer to the other two questions.

Hi the Orchid court sells pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, juices, coffees, etc

This June? It hasn't really started yet.

right...i thought it was supposed to begin at the end of this june

:confused3 hmmm, may be I misunderstood... but she clearly said "finished in June".. I might call them again shortly to confirm - can't call right now: down with a horrible flu and lost my voice:sad2:

hope you are feeling better soon :wizard: .....if they say "june" again, confirm the year

Thanks for finding out! Even if they start in June, theres a slight chance they'll be done by september!

yeah, we are going in september as well (unless I decide to switch to PBH); on one hand, I was hoping that we'd still be able to experience the "old" style, but on the other hand, it'll be nice to have a bit of "newness". I remember the first few times we stayed at RPR (the first year it opened), it was so new and beautiful but started showing quite a bit of wear and tear the second year. I just wish that the new decorum weren't so hideous! We'll see!

We're all hoping it looks better in person.

I was just going to ask everyone how they feel about the new room decor. I really loved RPR the times I have stayed there in the past.I was so excited to hear about the renovations but when I saw the pictures I was so disappointed.::sad2: When I went to Orlando in 2005 I had the chance to stay at Disney's Polynesian resort after its renovations and I walked into my room I loved it!!!!!!!!! I was worried that I would be let down when I switched to the RPR but I wasn't.I could even have upgraded to a suite for $35.00 more a night but I was content with my waterview room. The RPR rooms had a rich color scheme and had a beautiful ambience. I am hoping guests staying in the new rooms will tell us it looks better in person but I am not counting on it.I am not sure I want to stay at RPR again. I am staying at HRH for the 1st time in 12/07 and I hope I love it. So how does everyone else feel about the new rooms? Will it change futher plans to stay there?
Thanks!!!!!:)

could you point me in the direction of the new rooms?? this could be the deciding factor in the HRH vs. RPH that is keeping me up at night!

Sorry,I didn't mean to stress you out this,it is just my opinion. I am sorry I am not very computer savy to post the link but if you go to the list of posts on this board I started a thread on 5/29 asking how good RPR conceirge level is and AlexandNessa was nice enough to also post a link to the new room thread. Otherwise there are alot of awesome people on this board who are alot more computer savy and I am sure they will be able to help you out. RPR really is a great resort ( regardless of the color scheme)and the onsite restaurant -Tchoup Tchoup is awesome. I can't speak for HRH because I haven't stayed there yet but alot of people really love it. You really can't lose with either resort you should just choose the one that most appeals to you!!!! Have fun what ever you decide. Get some sleep and dream about a wonderful vacation in Universal Orlando vacation with Front Of The Line Access. :)

I was wondering why the rooms looked different this year from last!! Thanks for the enlightenment!!

The main difference I noticed was the bedspreads. They are a much lighter color and filled with a soft down. The mattresses were great!! There was also a small armchair by the window (didn't remember that from last year). I need to get my photos out and compare. If I have a chance tomorrow, I'll look at my memory card and find some photos. The lighter color on the beds really made the room seem larger.

I hope this helps some!!

Tammy
