Does anyone know what the average prices of alcoholic drinks are at RPR?

I usually get a cocktail or a mixer, and my boyfriend has a beer...

Thank you very much!

iF i REMEMBER RIGHT, IT WAS AROUND $5.50 FOR A BEER AND $10 00 FOR A FROZEN DRINK.tHEY INCLUDE THE SERVICE CHARGE IN WITH EACH DRINK THOUGH.i USUALLY BRING SOME BEER WITH ME,THEN JUST BUY A COUPLE,BUT MY WIFE DRINKS DAQUIRES,SO THAT ENDS UP COSTING A FEW BUCKS

I do agree that even if you walk up to the pool bar at HRH - they include the tip. 5.50 for a 20-24 ounce (can't remember) draft beer and on our pool day Dh was getting a mixed drink (Grateful Dead) and it came to like $7 something with tip. That was an expensive YET relaxing day  :dance3: :woohoo:

It always seems like my drink of choice is $10.00. Last time I remember commenting to my husband after we each ordered a drink that there wasnt any change from the $20. Pool days always cost us plenty, but they are the BEST!

Are you allowed to bring a bottle from home?
Not really. You can pre-game in the room, and possibly bring a beer hidden in a shorts pocket or shirt. But I really wouldn't let anyone see it. Everything served around the pool is in clear plastic cups. I don't mind paying for a couple drinks at the pool if I've pre-gamed in the room first.

I love it!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks for your replies everyone!!

I have asked for beer & nuts as our Loews First amenity, so hopefully that will help some. We will probably bring some from the 7/11 to consume in the room and then get one or two at the bar downstairs. We don't plan on getting sloshed or anything, we just like a couple of drinks on vacation :)

Not that my dear wife and myself cannot afford it, but the drink prices over the last few visits have seem to gone upward. We usually bring some beer or a couple of bottles to keep in the room for our stay. (on the night before we leave it usually winds up being a crazy time as we try to figure out how to finish off the last of it-drunken scrabble anyone?) The "no change from a 20 dollar bill" seems to be the par for poolside drinks for me and my wife and a soda for little guy, they are very generously poured, but after a couple of fruity sweet drinks, you look for something else. Hey, it isssssss vacation after all! But like a previous poster said, do not let any staff see you toting a bottle of vodka or an off brand glass bottle or can of beer. You will be approached! Just try to save a plastic cup that they give you, and everything will just fine! hope this helps!:dance3:

Eek ... I wasn't aware bringing a drink from your room to the pool was frowned upon.

I will say I would never dream of bringing glass to a pool, even my own pool in my yard. But we always bring an ice-filled cooler to all hotels and timeshares filled with beers, vodka, tonic, limes and juice and plenty of plastic cups to put a drink in to take to the pool -- more specifically, the hot tub.

I even remember for years the plastic cups you were given in the HRH rooms were the exact same cups you'd get at the pool bar. I thought they were there for you to bring a drink to the pool with  :lmao:

Geez, I'd even call housekeeping or star services for more.

Is this something new? I've never been approached with my own drink in my own plastic cup, even our trip last week. Although, we are generally quiet and discrete folks :)

Too funny. We flat out asked the bartender at the Beach Club if he'd give us a few plastic cups straight from the bar, and he gave us a handful without thinking twice. We had a 12-pack of Miller Lite cans, and I won't drink beer out of a can. We'd pour a beer for ourselves in our room on our way to City Walk for the evening. If you don't know, the liquor licenses change once you reach the security guards before hitting the parks. It was much easier for us to finish a beer walking between RPR and Margaritaville than it was for us to finish a beer walking between HRH and USF!

Sorry for the tangent, but yes, I agree. You're easily looking at $8.95 - $9.95 per mixed drink PLUS tax PLUS 18% gratuity. They are nice enough to remind you that the grauity is already included. Our bar bills at The Beach Club were amongst the highest of all our bills, and we charged everything to the room card. Seemed that with all said and done, our cheapest bill at The Beach Club for a few drinks (no eating) was $47.

I bring a small soft sided cooler to the pool at HRH. Only once we have been "told" that coolers were not allowed. I bring beer and soda, but pour them into cups. I have also asked the bartender for cups with no problem. We rationalize bringing our own by ordering one drink from the waiter!

My wife, son,and I were at Jake's at RPH one night. My wife had two glasses of wine and I think my son and I were drinking Coke. If you've ever been to Jake's you will know that it's basically pub food: sandwiches, $10 - $12 and entrees $16-$18- nothing ridiculous or anything. Well anyway, when we got the bill, mind you my wife simply ordered "pinot grigio," the wine was $14 a glass. I think at least in a place like that, the waiter should let you know how much you are paying for the glass if it is that high. Conversely, I got a beer at the bar the previous night for about $3.50 and I ordered a sandwich for my wife to bring up to the room that was only on the kid's menu and they only charged me $3.00 ...

Funny, I've done the same thing when it comes to bringing a drink down. If you keep a few plastic cups from the room or pool you'll be good to go. Rum and Coke works great because it looks like a coke. Pour a strong one in the room and walk downstairs with it. You can walk anywhere with a rum and coke and no one will say anything. Buy a bottle of Barcardi Limon at the liquor store next to Publix before you check in. It's always better to have more drinks available in the room then less. Again, I don't mind paying for a few drinks at the pool, but I do pre-game.

i was just at rpr this past weekend and had no problem bringing drinks from my room, my sister even took her own beer with no problem...someone cleaning up even took her empty cans and put them in the trash...
