HI
let me start off by saying the RPR is a beautiful hotel- the theming is wonderful - You really feel like you are on vacation in a tropical place- the pool was huge- pool never really felt crowded as it was so big- and there were always lots of patio chairs to lay on-
floating toys were reasonable too- you could buy right outside by the pool, 24inch ring $3.00, 24inch beach ball $3.00, gogles $5.00- and they blow up the toys for you!
the club breakfast consited of fresh fruit,(watermelon, grapes, pineapple, kiwi, cantalope, honeydew) croisants, bagels, pastries, granola, bread (toaster avail) different spreads for bread and bagels,(cream cheese, mango cheese, butter) hot sweet rolls (delicious), little boxes of cereals, ( chocolate krispies, captain crunch, fruit loops, special k, corn flakes....) apple & orange juice in pitchers, variety of teas, coffee (kinda strong)
little bottles of sprite, coke, diet coke, carbonated water, plastic bottles of water-
only alcohol free beverages not out all day were the apple and orange juices- although the staff had no problem getting some for my son in the evening
they usually had large fresh cookies(macadamian, chocolate chip, peanut butter, raisin...) out with milk and little bags of chips in the afternoon
from 5 to 7 you could get free white, red or blush wine, miller, bud, miller lite, bud lite, corona...- they handed out the drinks to you- you just couldn't go and help yourself like you could with the soft drinks- you could also order specialty drinks for $5.00, a lot cheaper then the Bula bar which is almost $10 per drink!!!
from 5 to 7 there was always fresh fruit, crackers, cheeses, soft drinks, and each of our 7 nites there was a different main dish:
chicken fingers, angel hair noodles with scallops, cold noodles and chicken, sticks with beef and spring egg rolls, anti pasta salad (no meat)
each evening from 8 to 9:30 they put out fancy cakes, coffee cheese cake, raspberry cheese cake, fresh cookies, fancy scons- fresh fruit (cakes changed nightly)
i really enjoyed the convience of the club room especially for breakfast- but the kids and hubby really didn't care for most of the food- except for the cookies and the chicken fingers
they felt the food was too exotic & i could see their point
i paid $60 extra a nite to stay club level- would i do it again? yeah, if i won the lottery- i think even though the easy accessibility factor for food made a big difference- i would rather spend the extra money on dinners at restaurants
for the most part the staff was very friendly, especially an asian girl names, yoko- she made a point of speaking to us whenever we came in the club or left (not all the staff did this)
we had 5 in our room and didn't feel cramped at all- brought a blow up bed for 5yr old son- room to put this bed on floor beside my bed-closet was very roomy- had room on top and a safe that you set the code yourself- 6 large drawers to place your clothes
tolitries included were: lotion, face and body soap, plastic cap, shampoo, conditioner, shoe shiner, sewing kit
beds were very comfortable- had the service bring up 4 extra feather pillows- (i am buying some for me at home now)
from star services i had a sound machine brought up (no charge) my husband snores like a train
housekeeping was inconsistant- one day very clean room next day spills not even wiped up and glasses not cleared away- i did my best to keep room tidy and left a tip of $5.00 daily
turn down service was no big deal- they turned down the beds and propped the pillows- i asked about the little trinkets for kids or mint for pillow and they said they don't provide???
all in all i loved this hotel and can't wait to go back again!!!
any questions please feel free to ask
