We're here at RPR - hooray! I need some help though - I was thinking wifi was free on club level, but I have been unable to connect. Called the front desk & one person said club level wifi was free & another said it was $9.95. They said to plug in my room number & other info on the connect page, but I never get a page like that to come up. One of the staff members in the lounge said I could use wifi in the lounge, but would have to pay to use my own computer.

I know this is a long, confusing post, but if anyone has any recent experience & could give me some guideance, I would greatly appreciate it. I can connect without any difficulty from the lobby (where I am now), but not from my room.

Still no luck today & every staff person I talk to seems to have a different answer as to whether I'll be charged or not. Oh well, guess I'll be hitting the lobby for my wifi.

Is the wifi in the lobby free? Do you need any codes or just connect to insecure server?

We were there in Jan. I know on club level, we just used the computer in the club lounge. We had our own with us, but didn't bother using it while at RPR. There was sonemthing about if we took the laptop down to one part of the pool area (and I think the lobby and food area) we could use the wifi, but you had to be in the right spot. I'm not all that technical, so we just checked email and stuff every couple of days in the lounge.
Enjoy.

Yes - in the lobby it's free & you do just connect to an insecure server. Very easy to do. I'm sitting in the lobby right now directly across from the concierge & ticket center area, so I know that'a a good spot.

I was just there in April. The free internet is a benefit for Lowes You First members. I had signed up for it when it was the old program, but I never used it because I always booked at a discount rate. Even though I never used it, I was still considered blue and had free internet.

It has been our experience in the past that it is not free with club. However, it is free if you have a Loews status. What you do in that case is sign in, charge it to the room, and they cancel the fees on your bill.

Thanks damo! What you said is exactly what one person told me at the front desk. I do have a Lowes plus status, but was very leary of having it charged to my account & then canceling ~ feared for some reason I would have trouble getting it cancelled.

I eventually decided I would try, but after repeated attempts I could never get a connection in the room - couldn't get to the page where you mark the box & put in your room info, etc. I'm sitting in the lobby now using the free wifi & a man sitting here with me said he had the same problem (not being able to connect in the room). Oh well, at least I can connect for free in the lobby without any trouble.

So your computer isn't locating the wifi connection in your room? Have you tried a few other areas in the hotel. Maybe they could switch rooms for you. We had no problems with it in Feb.

I just got home from RP 2 days ago---when I tried connecting in the room it said I had to accept Lowe's policy, etc or whatever, so I X'd out of that and just used my hubbys wireless connection from home. I didnt want to deal with fighting with any fees----I am a You First member, but seems like nobody knew or informed me of anything about the program. I got a newspaper daily, but so did everybody else on my floor :confused3

But in the lobby when waiting to leave, I connected to the unsecure Lowes.net site and it worked fine.

I agree - gotta luv free:). Looks like we may cross paths tomorrow. Hope you have a great trip. We have loved every minute of our stay.

Thats great news about the free wifi and will most likely use that instead of the room since I'm a Lowes member also, blue status. I wasn't going to bring my laptop but need it to off load my Flip video HD videos after trips to the park.:thumbsup2

Pink.... Are ya lovin the Club Level?? We are slated to stay there in August and can't wait.

If you haven't already, can you please take some pictures of the Concierge offerings? It's been forever since we have had a good photo update. Of course this is if you have time no pressure :thumbsup2

And I have never had problems getting my internet taken off.

:lovestruc Club level rocks. DH says he's spoiled & now can't imagine staying anywhere but club level. DS's think they are kings.

And oh yes - I have taken many photos of the club lounge food offerings. I'm sure others in the lounge thought I was a bit crazy taking those pics, but a DIS reporter's gotta do what a DIS reporter's gotta do. I'll try & post them when I get back home tomorrow. Never posted photos on DIS, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Hope you have a great trip! You're gonna luv club level.

Yeah - This was my first trip with my laptop. I brought it mainly to download photos & it's been great. One less thing I'll have to do when I get home.
