Ok so we have two days at the end of our disney vacation that I have to make a choice. We have stayed at Portofino and love love loved it. The transportation via boat to the parks was soo nice and so relaxing. I really consider the niceness of transportation options a big plus and colors my take on the quality of our family vacation.

We had dinner at the sushi bar at the RPH in March (wo kids) and my hubby and I really thought the hotel was beautiful, and the food great.

Enter my kids - For thanksgiving we are going for 13 days..The last two are open, and I was considering a quick trip to universal. My son - however - is in love with spongebob currently and I really thought the Nick Family Suites Hotel (which is just a nick Partner - cuz it is listed as a choice on the universal website) Can anyone tell me

1) Does spongebob show his face ever at Universal?
2) Is the RPH pool very kid friendly?
3) The transportation from the Nick hotel is so poor that we shouldnt even consider it??

Help?

If you are going at Thanksgiving, stay on site since the crowds will be large and you will really appreciate your unlimited express passes that you get by staying at the Royal Pacific. It is extremely kid friendly. The Nick hotel isn't very close and you have to pay for transportation. There is a resort fee at the Nick hotel that is quite steep. There will be a lot of time wasted travelling. Sponge Bob can be found in the play area when you get off of the Jimmy Neutron ride.

Express vs. Spongebob painted room = Express wins!!

Ok but what if your kid really really really likes spongebob. Like a 5 minute character encounter isnt going to do it.

Can someone tell me if there are any character meet and greets with the yellow guy? :upsidedow

Friends of ours stayed at the Nick hotel and they spent a whole day just at the hotel (pool and such)....you might not get your kid to leave the hotel in the first place....besides, there's so much more to see at the parks...suess landing, shrek, woody woodpecker kidzone....he'll be preoccupied with other things at the parks too.

Getting to ride Jimmy Neutron over and over again with fotl might do it for him though.

Inbetween the ride letting out there isn't usually a line for spongebob. I imagine he could spend a decent amount of time with him.
