I have stayed in a One Bedroom Suite (Fantasy) and loved it. Wondering if getting one of the Royal Suites on the Dream or Fantasy is significantly better than a One Bedroom Suite or not. I am close to pulling the trigger on the Royal Suite so would be very helpful to hear any feedback from others' experiences.

Very much appreciated!

Thanks, ScooterScott! I had no experience to share with the OP. But I do know the Royal Suites are BIG, and the verandahs are ENORMOUS with a private hot tub. And the Royal Suites can get room service from Palo! (Remy too? not sure....)

They are big but on the dream class the royal suites only sleep 5 like a 1 berdroom (Cat T). The functional rooms, although bigger, are also similar to the 1 bedroom - both have a living and dining area, master bedroom and 2 baths. The extra “room” is the kitchen but who needs that on a cruise ship. In the kitchen, it is well documented on the boards, that the fridge is stocked with mickey bars! Yes, the huge veranda and the private hot tub really set the extrierior apart from the 1 bedroom. No Remy but Palo in room is a nice touch.

Good info! Thanks for that. I have read that some people prefer the Royals on the Classics? You?

I have stayed in both, the best part of royal suite is the veranda, if you have some sea days that is the place to be, How many people in your travel party I just booked it for a upcoming cruise and it was cheaper to get connecting family state room then add passengers 3 and 4 into royal suite saved 3k and gained extra bedroom and bathroom. There is even a mini kitchen with full sized fridge and freezer stocked full of mickey bars, the family area is all huge.

Thank you! That is my only concern is if the Royal does not exceed the One Bedroom enough to justify the additional cost. I have researched the Royal on the Dream/Fantasy so understand it has the huge balcony with hot tub and also the kitchen which like someone said the kitchen would probably not be used very much. So if aside from those items if the rooms have similar interior sq footage then I am struggling with the decision to book the Royal. But either way may try the Royal on a shorter cruise duration so I can find out first hand.

The royal suite has more then double the square footage inside , it is very open and spacious, and if you get the adjoining family suite you will have more room and maybe cheaper then booking royal by itself, It makes no sense, but it is how disney prices it. Example royal for 2 guests is 10k guest 3 and 4 2.5k each total of 15K, or book royal for 2 guests 10K and connecting family stateroom for 3.5K for 2 guests for total of 13.5k

Thank you Chris. Interesting idea, so you booked the Royal with 2 passengers and then an adjoining Family stateroom with 2 passengers?

Great info, very much appreciated Chris. We are traveling with 2 adults and 2 young children (2 & 3 years old) so this is great to know for possible larger extended family joining us on cruises. Glad to hear the interior sq footage is more substantial in the Royal Suite. The figure they show on the website includes the balcony which we all know is huge so I wanted to make sure I was not paying double for just the balcony.
We had such an incredible time in the One Bedroom Suite (loved the 2 large T.V.s for letting the kids chill some to watch Disney movies and loved the master bathroom layout which was very functional and elegant) so very curious to see how we like the Royal. I will post back which room we get and how we liked it.

Yes and it comes up cheaper A lot of the time, You have to book 1 adult and 1 child in each one. Its easy to see the starting price for family state room is always for 2 people, and then see what the fare is for passengers 3 and 4 in royal

If its in your budget it is a incredible experience we get the Roy Disney which is on the starboard side so when your backed into castaway you have view of island.

And as other poster stated you do get unlimited WI-FI which was nice for us with 2 teenagers.

Interesting breakdown of the square footage that I found on iCruise website to compare these two room categories (since on the Disney website it includes balcony sq footage when listing cabin sq ft). This shows you how much actual living interior you are getting. With Royal Suite you are definitely paying for balcony.

Royal Suite: Interior 898 sq ft sq ft, Balcony 883 sq ft sq ft

One Bedroom Suite: Interior 536 sq ft sq ft, Balcony 86 sq ft sq ft
