royal palms or horizons ?

was looking to stay off site for october vacation and found good rates at both these locations, any opinions on which is better, locations, etc. any info would be great, also do you have to do the tour thing ?

Depends what you want. Royal Palms is 1 mile from the Disney gate and allows access to the Marriott World Center facilities including the pools, restaurants, etc. Horizons is by Sea World and about 15 minutes from Disney. It is geared towards families with young children and has a pirate theme ship, waterworks, mini golf course, etc. If you rent you do not have to take a tour at either unless you want to.
