Has anyone used the royal palms beach club for a day at the beach in Grand Caymans. It seems too good to be true compared to some of the other places. We are going 2/16 on The Wonder and just wanted a place on the beach with bathroom facilities.

I have gone to Royal Palms that last two years. I love the convenience of a short, cheap taxi ride ($4 per person each way). It's $2 per person to enter and we usually rent two chairs and an umbrella for about $30. The beach is clean and the water very calm and clear. Kids love playing in the sand and we enjoy walking for a distance along the beach. The food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. We will be back there again this year. Go, enjoy and have a great time.

Any thoughts on the bathroom facilities. I thought I may have read there are even showers available.

The bathrooms were fine. Nothing great but not bad either. We used the outdoor showers By the time we would leave our bathing suits were dry and we just had to clean off our feet to get sandals back on.

Thanks for your help

Just went to RP at Easter. 6 ships in port, so very busy and crowded, but still fine. A very good value. Bathrooms are clean, outdoor showers, as well. If you walk a bit down the beach, not crowded at all--be sure to take your beach towels.

I checked the port schedule and it looks like only the Wonder will be in the day we are due. Looking forward to a great time.

We went to the Westin which is about .5 mile from RP... there were people on our taxi that got off at RP... if you go to their website you can book a cabana for $100 for the extra shade... there was only one other ship in port when we were there on the Wonder so the beaches weren't crowded... but if you can swing the $200 for the Westin day pass then it's totally worth it, they will give you a room so you can take a shower and you have access to their beautiful pool as well... if you and folks in your party can handle the heat the RP is a great deal

Lucky you. There will be 10 ships the day we are there. Last year there was 5, I think.
