Roy Disney launches a "save disney" website

This was reported in our local paper. I thought I would pass it along to our disney friends. If it is in the wrong board, perhaps it can be redirected to the proper one.

Walt Disney Co. former board member Roy Disney has taken his case for ousting Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Michael Eisner to the Internet with the launch of a Web site, www.savedisney.com.

Roy Disney resigned just over a week ago from the board. About 2,000 e-mails have been received at the site.

That was my thought too. Maybe it's for real, but I just feel a little suspicious about the whole thing.

Somebody here found this site earlier in the week. It's authenticity was debated, as it looked unprofessional. Don't know if anybody found out whether it really belonged to Roy or not.

It is real. Shamrock Corp. is Roy Disney's investment firm. Jim Hill called Shamrock to find out if the site was the real deal, and according to them it is.

Well, if he wants to convince people that they are the creative future of Disney. GET CREATIVE. That web site looks like something I could do.

I realize that makes no difference to the overall point, but.... I went to the website and I think it's just wierd. How is this site suppose to "save disney"???

LOL Carol. I had the exact same thoughts.

The site is unprofessional design wise and content wise.

This made me laugh

uh, maybe rather than personally responding to thousands of emails, Roy Disney should spend his time formulating a plan of what specific actions he could do that would improve the Disney Company. Then maybe the stockholders or Board would listen to him.

I posted it since it was on the Orlando Sentinel coverage of what has been going on with Disney.

Debate it or believe it - it gives us another forum to look and check at.

I just hope Disney returns to its nice, clean environment it used to be. The parks have been suffering of late and are not as clean and nice as they used to be, or is it just me getting picker?
