We always take I-4 all the way to exit 67.......most of time traffic going through Downtown Orlando and as you get close WDW is bumper to bumper....too many cars not enough concrete.....I was looking at the map and I see where Central Florida Greenway loops around Orlando taking exit 6 to World Center Drive which turns into Epcot Center Drive.

I was wondering if anyone has taken this route or is there another way around Orlando besides I-4.

I take SR417 everyday as part of my comute to work. If coming from I95, this is the best route around Orlando. If you are coming down the Turnpike, SR429 can be used. Some day, SR429 will be extended to meet up with I4 in Volusia County.

One thing to be aware of, SR417 is a toll road. The total tolls will be about $5.

It is worth the tolls. It is easy to take. It lands you right at WDW. Our tom tom got upset on our last trip because we did not go the way she knew and it looked like we were driving on grass instead of road. :goodvibes

We always take the Greenway whenever possible while visiting Florida. Yes, it is a toll road. It does not have nearly the traffic as I-4, at least not at the times I have used it. In my opinion, it is the best way to get from the airport to Disney. Just south out of the airport and you are there in twenty minutes. :)

Ditto to what everyone said, above.

When I worked in Orlando, it was well worth the tolls to use 417 (and other toll roads) whenever possible over I-4.
