Sign ups are now being held for Round 8!!! This again will be a three month round. At the starting of each month-(or I usually like to give out the twist of the month, and the topic of the month earlier than the actual month the letters, and twists are to be sent out) I will post, pm, or have each participate pm me for the Twist of the Month, and at a seperate time the Topic of the Month. I do it this way so that I can see who is reading through the threads, and following the rules. When participating in this swap, I ask that you fully read all the posts. Your pen pal, another participant, or I may have a question or such for you. I may ask you a question on the thread instead of pming you directly. If I do not hear from you within a responable amount of time, you may be eliminated from the swap. If you will be away during the swap period, please provide me with those dates.
Also each week from Monday through Friday, there is a MANDATORY check in. You just need to post a smile, say checking in for the week.... I will then mark your name off as checking in. Each month, I will start a new monthly thread for you to check in on, and will close the previous thread.
All mailings for the month should be mailed together. Your letter which will include the Topic of the Month, as well as the Twist of the Month. The Topic is a random topic that is picked, or at times there is a bit of a twist to the topic as well, and I will have you do things a bit differently then just talking about a certain topic. The Twist of the Month is usually to purchase something according to a theme or such. At times, it could be for you to "make" something. The twist of the month does not have to be pricey, just send something to your pen pal that you yourself would enjoy, or something you think they would enjoy.
Since many of us have been part of this swap for previous rounds, I am going to randomly select names, so you may have the same pen pal(s) again. Can you remember all of the pen pals you already wrote to?
Well this will be a new start, and if you were already pen pals, this will be a nice way to reconnect with them.
I ask that you only sign up IF you are willing to follow the rules, and carry your own weight. Since this is not a once time exchange, and a three month committment, it is harder to keep things in order if people do not follow the rules. No one likes to be left hanging as well.
This swap is open to both international, and U.S. participants. Things will be done a bit differently this round for international participants. Since the holidays are coming around, and that usually means that international mailings could take a bit longer, I ask that all letters/twists be sent out by the first week of each month-usually that Sunday. I will give you enough time to get your letter, and twist together as long as both you, and your pen pal have received, and posted of each others letter/twist arriving for the past month. If you are interested in signing up for an international pen pal, you will be matched up with them directly instead of being mixed in with the U.S. particpants. For the U.S. participants, you do have till the second Sunday of each month to mail out your letter/swap, but if possible, again because of the slow mail, please try to post your monthly mailings ASAP.
Please be sure to package all items properly, securly with durable tape....
In getting to know your pen pal, you will share more information about yourself, and such then usual. So, I ask that you keep this type of information to yourself, and not post alot about it on the boards. Do tell us what your twist was since we are eager to find out what goodies everyone has received, or if there was a special something that happened with your pen pal, and they are fine with everyone else knowing-ex. the birth of a niece....feel free to post it so that the rest of the participants can congratulate them as well. Just little bits of information that is not "personal" is fine. Feel free to chat with all the other participants on the monthly threads as well.

Remember....I need all participants to be able to check in a few times a week, and scan the threads for any important information or questions!!!

If you are currently in the pen pal letter swap, you must be in good standing, and have had to follow the rules to participate in this upcoming swap.
Unless you are traveling somewhere, and the dates seem to conflict in some way, you will have to wait for the Topic of the Month, and Twist of the Month unless it is not yet revealed. I sometimes like to "reward" the participants by giving the TOTM, or the TOTM ... early. Say for example once all letters have arrived instead of waiting for another week, I will tell everyone what the topic or twist is so that you can get a head start, and sometimes it is an incentive to get those letters/twists out early instead of waiting till the mail by date.
