Xwing is flying now!

I WANT TO SEE IT!
Everyone is complaining that the parks are busy & I’m over here walking onto every ride & ignoring my fastpasses lol. On Monday I rode Everest 8 times in a row. I was going for 10 but started to feel sick. Epcot looked a busier than normal for a December weekday on Monday night but MK closed extra early for the CM party & NPH was the CP narrator so that’s to be expected. It does feel like DHS is the exception, but that park has been weird for a couple years now (2017 I recall being much easier to ride everything on repeat) and I wonder if the new FP+ tiers played into it.
I’m still planning on 5am for Thursday. And folks, it has been COLD at night since Monday. I grew up in Michigan so the people mocking those bundled up can stuff it. Sitting on the ground at 5am, when it’s windy (15mph wind yesterday) and 40 degrees, is no picnic.

When we were there waiting for SWGE to open on it's opening day, there was no sitting on the ground. Once they started scanning MBs (and actually even before that for us since we were there well before that), we were standing and packed into DHS like sardines. Well, maybe not like sardines because there was some wriggle room but still, everyone was standing. It didn't seem bad since everyone was so excited.....conversing with strangers who also couldn't wait to get in....

We got here last night and kept on our layered winter coats from Chicago when going to Disney Springs. It was cold by our standards and we’re pretty used to it. Nobody believed me when I told them to wear them on the plane but I told them that I had been warned by my friends here!

Honestly, if you’re going to waiting outside, I’d bundle up. I didn’t think I’d feel too cold but brought layers (undershirt, sweater, jacket), a hat, and gloves to be safe, and by the end of the night Monday I was glad I had all of it. The low was 40 then vs tonight’s low of 47 so it’ll be a little better tonight, but better to have to carry your jacket than to be sitting in line wishing you’d brought it, you know?

That’s good to know! As someone who’s camped out overnight for stuff like this before (but never in Florida) the cold ground is the worst part. I just assumed they wouldn’t let us *in* anywhere until later in the morning, like 7ish. Packed in right means it won’t be as cold haha!

Woohoo, have fun! I hope you get to see the x-wings so I can live through you! I’m heading to DHS now too, but just to ride TOT & RNRC a few times. I decided to not linger & try to see the x-wings and instead go to MK for my last evening here.

We are at Beach Club and were thinking 4 or 5...too late?? We were going to walk and see how far we got (if similar to SWGE opening when people were held at the bridge)

Any suggestions when & where to set up base camp to have best chance to look for drones today?

Layering is good idea. Last night for mvmcp had an underarmour heat base layer, heavy fleece MM Xmas shirt and packable down alternative coat. Wish I had remembered to toss gloves in my park bag.
Worst of it is over now. Determined to dip into pool this trip! From Pittsburgh & I’m the sort to run hot but Orlando non daytime cold feels damp/bone chilling. Not the dry sort you get with snow
