We suspect that my dd has roseola, won't know for sure until the rash develops. It says that the icubation period can last up to 10 days. HAs anyones child had it, and have you been successful from having it spread to siblings? Or should I just give up the wishful thinking and prepare for the inevitable. Thanks
Tara

My son had it. It really wasn't a big deal. He was a little cranky and had a fever. Then he got the rash. My daughter never got it. As long as you are good about washing hands, not letting them share cups or utensils it shouldn't be that bad.

Well my son had it before my daughter was born and when she was born and had it, he'd already gone through it.

Seeing how they are now 29 and 27 the only thing I remember is that they both got it in the summer during a heat waves and they were like holding little briquettes. That and once the rash appeared they felt much better.

Best of luck. It sure makes the kids feel awful! :(

My 2 year old (can't believe I'm saying that) had it with a rash all over his back and stomach. I did the same as Bridget and the other 2 never got it.

rosela is pretty much a virus that starts out with a really high fever and no other symtoms. usually about 3 days later, the kids break out with a rash all over.

it's almost like a rite of passage for young kids. one of thousands of viruses that your body has to build an immunity against.

Both my boys had it on their first birthdays. The actual birthdays. Each of them have these weird looking photos of them with their cakes they were not interested in eating due to the fever.

Jacob had it a few months ago. The fever didn't make him cranky at all, but it was over 103. I finally took him to the doctor on the 4th day at DH's insistance. I could tell he felt fine and thought he was going to get roseola, chicken pox, or one of those rashes. The doctor looked all over him and agreed with me that he felt fine so it wasn't a big deal. He developed the rash on the 5th day, and it lasted about a day and a half.

Scarlet Fever is usually seen when someone has the strep throat virus. I'm not sure if you can get just Scarlet Fever.

he never had strepthroat. He atrted with a high fever for a couple days then he got the rash a few days later.
