Hi everyone. looking to go back next August & have come across a deal with Thomsons through Directline Holidays (£500 cheaper than direct with Thomsons). Anyone used them?

We have been going from Manchester but really would love to go from Newcastle on the new Thomson planes. We have also always stayed at Disney, last 3 trips at SSR on Full ddp but feel the price as gone up that much since last year that we need to come up with an alternative.

The deal I quite like the sound of is at Rosen Inn, flying from Newcastle on 18/8/14 for 14 nights. It's £3444 for me, Norman & Stephen, who will be 17 by then (oh my, times flying by). Any opinions on the hotel & price would be most welcome.

We are also thinking that we may just do SW, BG,US,IOA & W&W. This as taken me by surprise as i'm a real Disney girl (so may not happen)

Hope you can help.

We've stayed at that rosen inn and thought it was a great hotel for that price range - fridges in room, wifi etc.

Also a great location with lots of decent restaurants within walking distance.

Seems a decent price to me for August and your local airport.

Thanks for the quick response. For just the flight it's £3217 so only £224 for the hotel. I'm a bit worried that it's £500 cheaper than with Thomsons directly so will ring to ask them. I remember reading one of your trip reports where you didn't do Disney & had lots of offers/ coupons for discounts, may need to re read that if we go ahead. We don't drive so the location is important, thanks for confirming that.

We going next September, my hubby 2 be has done lots of looking around and asking people who been to Orlando and Rosen inn at pointe Orlando has been coming out as a very good hotel to stay so we booked the hotel for our 28 night stay. We booked with trevel city direct.

Thank you. We are looking to book today.

Hi Sharon, haven't seen you around for ages. I belong to a group on Facebook called 'It's Orlando time' and the Rosen Inn gets rave reviews there - seems people who have stayed there really love it. I believe it used to be the Quality Inn Plaza but had something of a facelift and was re-branded as the Rosen Inn.

I would imagine it depends what you're looking for but I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed (although I'm thinking it might not compare to the Royal Pacific ;)).

I have also been looking at the new Thomson Dreamliner for our flights next year but they are a little on the pricey side for me at the moment. can't imagine they'll come down much in price either :confused3

Glad to see you have plans to go back - hope you get what you want at the right price :goodvibes

We stayed at the Rosen Inn at Pointe last Easter. It's within walking distance of lots of eateries including Bahamas breeze on i drive. We also liked the Mexican restaurant at pointe Orlando and the ben and Jerry's ice cream shop next to the cinema. The I trolley stops outside and we used it for an evening trip to sea world .

Did you book?

It does back onto the I4 - we had a room I drive side and it was fine.

Walgreens is opposite which is handy for water and snacks.

We didn't eat at Millers ale house but that is opposite and gets good reviews.

We've stayed twice, wouldn't pay more than £35 per room per night, but it's fine. Nothing special, but clean and has plenty of pools. The selling point is the location , right in the best part of I-Drive. I does back onto the road, you can hear the road noise everywhere but it didn't really bother us. It is FULL of Brits, more so than anywhere else we have ever been in Orlando!

Hi Joh. It's been difficult time for us so have not been around too much. I have been lurking & put in the odd reply. Norman thinks I'm mad to keep reading all the trippies when not going. He also thinks we had one of our best nights meeting up with you at RPR.

We had an horrendous flight home last year, which lead me to thinking about going direct from Newcastle, then on the Dreamliner and before you know it, i'm in full planning & plotting mode, must admit Norman didn't take much convincing.

We booked, i'm so happy. I didn't get it for the £3441 as when I tried to book it, I was advised that the price had increased buy over £600. I got back on to Thomsons who said that the best they could do was match the internet price of £3950. I then rang another TA to see if they could beat it & they said it was a really good price but they could knock £50 off. The next morning I rang Thomsons & asked them to beat £3900 & booked at £3890. I'm really pleased with the price as for the first time we are thinking more about the journey.

We have stayed at the Quality inn plaza 7 times and staying there (Rosen inn pointe orlando) next year. Its a great location and a great budget hotel with every thing you need for your stay :)
