What are everybody's opinions on Rose & Crown? From atmosphere to food please. Thank you.

This is my favorite restaurant at WDW. The food is always good. I always get the potato leek soup, the steak and fish and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I love sitting outside and being able to watch Illuminations from my table, you couldn't ask for a better evening under the stars.

Rose and Crown ☺☺☺☻
We’ll go several trips without hitting R&C, then we always wonder why we skipped it. The Samosas are excellent, so is the lump crab appetizer. You can’t ever go wrong with the fish & chips. The lamb with Guinness BBQ sauce and the orange chicken are unique and appetizing. It has a street side pub feel and a casual mood. This is a popular restaurant pre-Illuminations but don’t hold your breath for a patio table. They are harder to get then an NHS dental appointment.

Thanks, sounds like it maybe a winner. How is the kids menu?

:cool1: :hippie: Been there twice and are 50-50 on the patio seating, but around dessert time if you book for about 7:30 they will take you out to a patio to watch Illuminations and this in my opinion is the best viewing place in EPCOT. Food is so so but a great place inside and great beer and CM's.

We tried it last year for the first time and now we wonder why we waited so long! The food was awesome (Sticky Toffee Pudding  ) and our server was the best we've ever had at a TS restaurant.

I dream about their mushroom appetizer.

We went to R&C for the first time during our December '07 trip--it was awesome! :thumbsup2 Our server was fantastic! He was so friendly and helpful--he even sat down at our table with us for a moment or two and chatted about living in the UK. The food was fabulous! I had the steak and fish--YUM!!! DF had the fish and chips (and being from New England--we know our fish and chips! ;) ) and he said his was great! We're going to WDW for our honeymoon next September and R&C is definitely going to be one of our ADR's.

This is my mon's #1 place to dine. The moment I told her I was booking ADRs for our upcoming trip she told me to book at R&C - she is all set :)

We love R&C. We took our three kids (all under the age of 5) during our last trip and they loved it. No hope for patio seating, but the atmosphere inside was great. We had a great time and plan to add it to our ADRs for our next trip.

Not to be a downer, but just to provide some perspective...

We've been going to Epcot since it opened--about 25 years ago? We used to love to sit outside and watch Illuminations and have dinner at R&C.
We felt the food quality dropped about 5 years ago and stopped going there.
The responses in this thread tell me that either a) The food has improved again, or b)Visitors whose history is shorter than ours have different expectations .

I hope you enjoy it, and will let us know what you thought.:earsboy:

Thank you all very much, great to know all opinions.

I love the Rose N'Crown and we always make reservations there every time we go to Disney. We will be eating there again in a week and half! Can't wait! Their food is so good! You will like it! :)

That is the exact meal I had in Dec for the CP dinner. I thought it was good too, except for the steak - I'd only call that fair.

Any opinions of Rose and Crown from a vegetarian point of view? Thanks!

They have a very tasty curry. :cloud9: Also, if you like french fires, they fry their "chips" separately from the fish so their french fries are truly vegetarian.

I'm vegetarian and DH is not, and we both like the Rose and Crown a lot! (BTW they used to have a truly wonderful root vegetable pot pie that they took off the menu because it didn't sell well...I think they should have just called it Vegetable Pot Pie...anyway it was one of my all-time favorite meals in the Disney Parks!).

I hate to say that I guess I'm a minority. We were a bit disappointed with our dinner at Rose & Crown. It was our 24th wedding anniversary and our son's 11th birthday and a notation was made on our reservations. The only reason I booked this restaurant is every other restaurant was booked. (this was a spur of the moment trip so I didn't have time to make a lot of ADRs).

We were seated outside but were under a canopy so we knew we wouldn't be able to see the higher fireworks. Our waitress was very kind and told us not to worry, there was a small fireworks viewing area just to the left of the restaurant.

My husband ordered the Crab Timbale for an appetizer and I ordered the Potato and Leek Soup. The crab timbale was just okay but the potato and leek soup was delicious. The rolls didn't have a whole lot of flavor to them but were okay. If I had known the soup was so good, I would have ordered it for an appetizer.

For an entree, my husband ordered the Bangers and Mash. I ordered the Tamarind Glazed Pork Loin and our son ordered the fish and chips.

The bangers and mash were just okay. The pork loin was very bland. It didn't have any flavor to it at all except for the glaze. Our son's fish was very greasy and he only ate a bit of the fish and mostly dined on the fries.

Our desserts were better. I ordered the Stickey Toffee Pudding and my husband ordered the Bailey's Irish Cream. The Bailey's was super strong. You could smell it when they sat it on the table. The pudding was delicious. We both liked it a lot.

While I wouldn't say I'd never eat there again, I think I'd skip it unless it was the only place that had an open reservation.

(and being from New England--we know our fish and chips! ;) ) .

Have to agree. We're a New England family who grew up with Fish and Chips Fridays and have traveled to Ireland where Fish and Chips were a staple in every restaurant. The fish and chips at Rose and Crown are my second favorite ever. To try the first, you'd have to travel to a small little clam shack in Portsmouth RI called Flos....

Go to Rose and Crown, you'll enjoy it.
