I am trying and trying and trying to get Rose & Crown for 7:30 pm or 8:00 pm so that we can attempt to sit on the pation to see Illuminations. It will be Feb. so I was originally concerned it might be too cold to eat outside.

But now my main concern is that the patio won't fit out party size. It just occured to me that we have 5 and the tables may only fit 4? I have no idea. I haven't been to Rose & Crown since 1984!

Anyway all I have been able to get is 6:55 pm and I have been both calling and doing the on-line ressies. 6:55pm over and over for the last 2 months solid.

I know I will keep on trying until we get there. :thumbsup2

But can anyone tell me the party size of the patio tables? Especially the lower tier or maybe there is no difference in table size between the tiers?

Thanks all!:goodvibes

I ate on the patio in AUG ( yes it was 95+ and any other time I would have considered this "lucky":lmao:).
I think there might have been a party of 5 on the patio, meaning they put the extra chair at the head of the table. I don't think they could do a larger party without splitting you at separate tables.

Thanks, we are 3 adults and 2 kids. Last trip the restuarants did that kind if seating with us a few times. They simply added a chair at the end of a 4 table. I thought it would be tight but with the girls it was ok.

Are the table sizes the same on both tiers?

I have been on the patio with a party of six, great spot for Illuminations!

There's at least one large round table on the patio at Rose and Crown. My party was seated there last year. We had six people. The year before that we had eight people and they seated us at two back to back tables on the railing--perfect view of Illuminations.

We've had a party of eight of us on the patio, but on the side as you coming in. The tables along the water side might not go together without blocking the way. All you can do is ask.

Not sure if you are aware but there is no guarantee that you will get a patio seat.
Are you prepared to see Illuminations at another time if this happens? Just making sure you know.

Wish you luck getting what you want!

If you are seated inside the Rose and Crown during Illuminations, there is a blocked off courtyard to the left of the restaurant (as you are looking at the lagoon) where the waitstaff will invite you to stand to watch the show. It can get a little crowded, but it's still a decent view.

Thanks very much to all! Still getting the 6:55 time but will keep trying. I know we might not get the patio but it is good to know that we can stand to the side! Now hopefully it won't be too cold so that the patio is closed or something. It will be Feb 17

I did wonder about that - I thought that they might let the people inside stand right by the patio tables, which wouldnt be so good. Can you ask to wait for an outside table rather than an inside - would they allow you to do this - is tehre likely to be a line for such tables. Also if you dine say at 7.30pm and happen to have finished eating by say 8.30pm, would they move you along before Illuminations?
