I know this restaurant got some really bad press recently so I would like to tell you our experience which was the exact opposite!. We had no ADR so went to the podium right at 11:30AM and were seated within 3 minutes. We weren't too thrilled with the table, and asked for a different one and were accommodated IMMEDIATELY. Waitress took our beverage order immediately and very soon after took our food order. No more gin fizz on the menu and the Pimm's did not have a cucumber spear. Probably will forget about cocktails the next time.

In about 10-15 minutes we were served our Appetizer (SCOTCH EGG) with a mustard sauce. This was a mediocre dish as the egg was warm. I am not a Brit, but I have always had Scotch Eggs chilled, so don't know if it was just me or not. DH had the Bangers & Mash and just raved about it! I tasted and he was right - food was hot, bangers were just spicy enough - a good choice. I had the cottage pies which were wonderful!. Food was delivered promptly and was all piping hot! Our guest had the corned beef sandwich and it was HUGE! For dessert I had sticky pudding - need I say more? YUM YUM!!!!

Yes, we will return.

Thanks so much for the review. I ate lunch at Rose and Crown a few times (like you, no reservation-just get there right at opening) and loved it. I was, however, a little concerned about going recently.

You can find good reviews and bad reviews for ALL restaurants at WDW!! Rose & Crown has been a place that we dine at each time we go! There have been two times that it was not all that great for us, but we tried again.

And next month, we will dine there again!

We will be trying this for the first time on our Oct trip. We have dinner reservations. I was a little skeptical booking it at first, especially where we are skipping our usual Le Cellier but hey we figured we would give it a shot.
Thanks for the review, its nice to hear positive results.:thumbsup2

We've eaten there now I'd say 5 times; 3 with ADR's and 2 without. We've really enjoyed our meals on all occasions and really can't say anything negative. Actually, now when we stay at the Boardwalk, this is our "first lunch in WDW". :) I actually have an ADR there for lunch on my "Mommy only trip" in October. ;)
