My wife and I have a 6:55 Dinner reservation for Rose and Crown.

- If there are not seats outside, can we wait for a table even with an ADR?

- If we are seated immediately, will the 6:55 reservation be ok for the Illuminations show? The show is at 9:00 pm correct? I figure my wife and I can each get a drink or two, an appetizer and really make dinner last until the Illuminations show. That will work right??

Thanks!!

The Rose and Crown policy is that you must accept the first table that is available, no waiting for a patio table. However, if you do get an inside table just tell the server that you want to see Illuminations and they will take you to a special outside viewing area right before Illuminations start.

We've had a two hour window and just ordered drinks and appetizers and then the entree and dessert. We were very upfront with the server and said that we wanted to see Illuminations so we stretched it out. Of course we left a very generous tip too!

We have a 6:55 ADR, and plan on staying for Illuminations.

As for asking for the patio: we plan on asking. I've heard that SOMETIMES they will let you wait for one, depending on how busy they are. So, it never hurts to ask, just don't count on it.

The last ADR for R&C is at 8:00, probably for this very reason: after 8:00, no one is going to want to leave.

Let your server know you are not in a hurry and would like to see Illuminations. We gone twice once we had a 7:30 and asked for an outside table. We were show to an inside table. It was August, hot & humid thank god we ate inside. Our girls were getting antsy just as Illumination was about to start, our server held our table while we enjoyed the show from the patio. We came back to our table for desert.
This past summer we had a 7:50 ADR and we had a front row table on the patio. We did let our server know we where there for the show and in no hurry. She was great. I could not figure why in July they had several empty table on the patio and were taking walk ups. Must have been Free Dining and everyone making ADRs everywhere. It was no where near as hot as that August night.
Have a Magical Time. Just to be sure don't order your Entree till you've received your appetizers and eat slow.

Realize that even if you do get a patio table at R&C, you aren't guaranteed a good view of Illuminations! We had a patio table one year, but it was pretty far back and to the right (right against the building). Because of the overhanging awnings, we could hardly see anything! We ended up getting up and standing at an open spot at the railing (making sure we didn't block anyone else's view). Could easily have gotten a spot at the railing anywhere in Epcot - being at R&C was not additional benefit, for us anyways!

So eat at R&C if you like the food there, but don't count on being able to see, even with a patio table!

Our reservations were for 7:15, I think - and here is what we did: we were a big group of 7, and twice on the day of our reservation we stopped by the reservation stand at R&C (we were touring Epcot that day anyway) and asked if we could have a patio seat. Of course, they couldn't promise, but they said they'd make note of it. And, sure enough, we waited about 10 minutes and got a FABULOUS spot and a wonderful dinner.

We made our reservation for 7:00PM and are keeping our fingers crossed. This is the first time I am dining at Rose and Crown and I'm so excited! :goodvibes

Sometimes a patio seat for Illuminations is great and sometimes not so great. The biggest advantage for us is that it's better than a railing spot around the lake because you don't have two rows of people pushing at your back to get a better view. To be honest, I enjoy Illuminations even from back along the prominade where you can still see a lot without dealing with the crowds. I do the same for parades.

I'm totally directionaly challanged can you help me to know where the Prominade is??

What we always do is let them know at check-in that we'd like a patio table and don't mind waiting longer, if needed. We go probably 6 times a year and so far, have only had to sit inside once. It obviously isn't guaranteed, but nothing says you can't ask. I think they realize that most of the late dinner crowd wants to watch Illuminations.

We had a 7:30 ADR at R&C for a 9pm Illuminations. R&C was extremely busy at this time and it took 25 mins to get through the line just to check into the ADR. We then had to wait another 20 mins to be seated, so we weren't seated until about 8:30. The hostess asked if we preferred to be inside or outside and we did not care. We did get a seat outside but it was on the upper patio and the awning blocked many of the higher fireworks. We were advised we could move around or go over to the viewing area to see the show better but we were still eating our desserts.

As PPs have said, you are seated inside or at an outside table without a good view, just as your server to take you to the viewing area for R&C guests. It's to the left of the restaurant (when facing the lagoon). The view is really good.

I've found that if you're honest about wanting to view Illuminations, the servers have always been very accommodating.

That's the walkway around World Showcase. People tend to crowd towards the railings around the lagoon, but I think you can still see a lot further back.

We have 7:50adr and we are hopeing greatly for great seats. My son will be celabrating his 13 and my hubby and I have to use scooters so standing up for long periods is tough, so i pray that we will be able to sit and see a great show and start my DS birthday off right!

They may tell you right out front, when you arrive at the podium, that requests for table location will not be accepted. This is what they did on Saturday. If that happens you must take the next table that opens, regardless of its location.

Tables on the upper patio will not have an excellent view. There are actually rather few tables from which an excellent view of the entire show is available from your seats.

I was there on a very busy night and they asked if I prefer to be sat inside or outside. I said I didn't care. At first I thought maybe they had both available when I was checking in but I still had to get a pager and wait another 20 mins so that wasn't the case. I had never heard of them asking people's preference before, but they did for me.
