Just wondering, the dinner fish and chips, do you get one piece of fish?

When I had the fish and chips in June it was one huge (I think the whole fish!) piece of fish.:)

Here you go, one order of fish and chips, enjoy your meal!

(I snuck a couple of bites before the camera came out)

When we were there this past May, they had stopped serving the peas and no longer used plates...the fish and chips came in a basket. It was difficult to eat the fish that way as it was still a single large piece of fish, but you didn't have much to push the fork against. We asked for, and were given, regular plates to transfer our fish and chip to.

I am not a fried fish fan, however I walked by Rose and Crown the other day, and the smell from the fish and chips shack made my mouth water like Homer Simpson looking at a donut. Not sure how I mustered the strength to keep walking and not buy a basket, but I did...

Are you kidding? Was it served in the cardboard tray they use for take-out? If this is the case, I will be ordering from the take-out window from now on. :(

P.S. I never liked the peas anyway. ;)

Oh yummm this is the one place I am realy looking forward too!!!
I think I may get the bangers and mash for our TS and save the fish and Chips for the CS.

It was served in a metal basket with a paper lining. The chips were under the big piece of fish. This made for soggy, greasy chips, as well as the underside of the fish. It wasn't very tasty.

For the price they charge for F&C at TS, this is getting disappointing. I think I will stick with the CS next time. The F&C are usually hotter and crisper that way, not to mention less expensive. :)

Thanks all, this helped. We had TS ADR for dinner here, and the only thing on the menu I would've considered eating was the fish n chips, but now I think we'll just get CS lunch here, and use our dinner credit for something better. :goodvibes

You get one large piece of disgusting inedible fish served in a basket.

Gotta agree with PaulInCt. Go for the CS version of the F&C. It was so much fresher than what we got inside at R&C.:earsboy:
