We have R&C reservations at 7 on a night when Illuminations is at 9 (the best I could get for a last minute trip). Has anyone managed to drag their dinner out for that long? There are only 3 of us. The last time we went I remember the servers being very pushy with you getting your order in quickly (and bringing the main course out before we had finished our appetizers). Can we do it?

I have eaten there several times before. Once, for a 7ish dinner reservation, we were able to wait long enough that our waiter took us outside for the fireworks. I think part of it was the waiter that we had. We were having so much fun with him that he went out of his way to do that for us. It was a very cool experience, so I would suggest trying to stretch it! Good Luck! :goodvibes

I have ate at Rose & Crown on 2 different occasions and the wait staff allowed us to stay as long as we wanted so that we could see Illuminations. If I remember correctly, the last time we ate there our reservation was for 6:45 and I was concerned that they would kick us out. However, our server told me that they would not kick us out. We were welcome to sit and wait for the show. Have fun!

Good to hear! I would be more than happy to order dessert to stretch out the meal

I thought I read somewhere that 7pm is their latest reservation. Is that true? If so, you should be able to stay with no problem because they won't be trying to turn over tables.

We ate there on Sat. March 12 and our ADR was for 6:50 p.m. I even ordered dessert and we were still finished by I'd say 8:20 p.m. We asked our waitress about Illuminations and she said we could go and come back to the check-in around 8:45 p.m. and let them know she was our server and they'll take you out to a small roped off section they have. We did do this and it was fine as we were one of the first taken to the area so we had a spot right on the wall. It's standing no sitting area though. My DS had to stand on his stroller to see over the wall.

Oo thanks! I'll keep that in mind in case they give us the boot! :goodvibes

Oh, interesting! I had been wondering if we eat there at 6:30 pm, if my DS and DH could return to watch Illuminations, while my DD and I go back to the room. Sounds like it's possible?

Last Oct we had a 7:00 reservation here and were still there for the fireworks. We asked for outside seating and while they said "we can't guarantee this...", we waited a little longer to be seated and got outside seating. It was a perfect spot for viewing Illuminations. Have fun!!;)

We've done this several times and never had an issue. The wait staff at R&C is very aware that many people are there to see Illuminations. They have always been great for us. Have Fun!

We tried this once and I was not happy with the results. We were seated inside and then had to hurry our meal to go outside to see the show. We were like 4 deep and couldn't see a thing....

Aside from this, I have "wanted" to like Rose and Crown, but the menu/food for the price (even with free dining) just doesn't compute. I can make mashed potatoes and sausage at home. We don't go out to eat a lot, so I try to go places and eat things I wouldn't normally fix at home.

I think the location is great, but too many other places at Epcot with more magic and "special" foods to waste my money/time at R&C.

Just stating my opinion ... no need to flame, as I realize many others don't share it.

Not a problem there. We've been many times and we love the comfort food feel. Maybe we're freeing up a table for you at your favorite spot :thumbsup2
