Rose & Crown and IllumiNations

Greetings,

I have a party of 6 with ADR to 'Rose and Crown' for 6:50 p.m. Knowing park restaurants are usually a few minutes before they seat a party, am i stretching it to be seated outside and then take a good 2 hours for dinner? I do not want to overstay the welcome yet am looking for tips to have such a good location for the IllumiNations...(IllumiNations is at 9:00 p.m. that night)

I also heard there is a Rose and Crown viewing area. How might that work if we just finished eating and just went straight there.

Rose & Crown does tend to run behind, but on the flip side, they're pretty fast in terms of service. 60-75 minutes is usually enough for a three course meal. So, yes, you'd probably need to stretch out your meal if you still wanted to be eating when IllumiNations began. Now, that being said, they may not allow you to request a table. It's not uncommon to be told that you have to take the next available table for your party size and if you do not want it, you forfeit your ADR. Only some of the patio tables have an excellent view of the show. So, if you do request, be sure to ask for table with a view of IllumiNations (and not just a patio table, which could place you on the patio on the side of the building).

For the viewing area, it's to the left of the restaurant (when facing the lagoon). It's for guests of the R&C, so you'll need to ask your server to escort you out there.

Two hours is too long to try and stretch your meal, imho. I ate at the Rose and Crown in December, and was seated roughly 2 hours before Illuminations. Even with dessert dinner only lasted a little over an hour.

Also they no longer allow guests to wait for a table with a view of the fireworks. I'm guessing too many people were doing just that, so now they don't allow it. They do allow you to leave your table and go view the fireworks, and then go back to your table.
