On my first day at EPCOT, I don't have firm reservations for lunch as I'd like to be flexible at that point. I'm thinking I'd like to try this place for lunch as it would be right as I exit from Future World, just about the time when I'd be getting hungry. I know I can just walk in to the pub, but would need reservations for the restaurant; is there a big difference in the quality of the food? I realize the place gets mixed reviews, but it kind of looks like a fun place and it has toffee cake (!).

Thanks!

You can walk right in the pub but it is very small with very limited seating and no seats around the bar. The menu is also very limited in the pub section. We asked at the desk outside the restaurant if we could get in for lunch but they said they were booked the entire day. A half hour later I overheard someone while we were in the pub saying she tried again for a spot at lunch and they had plenty of seating. It's worth a try and if you try as soon as they open try again a short while later since the computer system wasn't updated yet when I first asked.

If you can't get in you can always get fish and chips next door. I believe the fish and chips were also available in the pub section.

1) We enjoy having a pint or two in the pub.
2) Especially when accompanied with a cheese plate.
3) Seating is limited
. . . there are four tables
. . . three stand-up tables
. . . standing, but no sitting at the bar
4) We don't enjoy eating at Rose & Crown that much.
5) The term Englich Cuisine is an oxymoron.

Our Ratings of Rose & Crown:
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: B-
. . . food quantity per serving: B
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: B
. . . eatery atmosphere: C
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: A

NOTE: Rose & Crown is typical English cuisine. Nothing special,
but usually above average in quality. Viewing Illiuminations from
the patio is a good view, although seating on the patio is not reserved
and you cannot wait for a table on the patio. The bar/lounge/pub area
is classic Engish with a great selection of beer and spirits. Additionally,
the piano player is excellent. Overall a good location for drinking and
snacking, but so-so for meals.

Thank you both! So, maybe I'll get the fish and chips from next door and the sticky toffee pudding to go.............
