rose and crown illuminations

Would it be better to make adr at R&C to see illuminations on a Friday jan 5 that has EMH or on Saturday Jan 6? Is illuminations still at 9:00 when there is emh?

Yes, Illuminations is at 9 every night.

Just be prepared that you might not get a table that has an Illuminations view. Lots of people want those same tables.

Get a 7:30-7:45 ADR for Rose & Crown and ask for a patio table. We did that on our last trip and it worked out perfectly. We got one of the front patio tables next to the wall at the lake. We had a perfect view with no obstructions. Just wished we had a video camera to catch it. Our dessert arrived about 10-15 minutes before Illuminations started. After about 8 or so, the CMs at Rose & Crown know that most everyone there will be staying for Illuminations. Good Luck.

I've tried to get a patio table at Rose & Crown timed with Illuminations three times and I have failed in each attempt.

One thing to consider (which I didn't discover until my May trip) was that if you are eating during Illuminations your server can take you into a roped off VIP area during the show. I was kind of towards the back of the VIP area so my view wasn't all that good - if I looked to the right, I was basically looking into the restaurant. However, I think if I'd gotten out to the VIP area a little sooner I would have been right up along the wall and had a perfect view.

I've been very lucky, getting a patio table three times out of the eight times we've eaten at Rose and Crown during Illuminations. We're exceedingly early checking-in and exceedingly polite about asking (and exceedingly gracious when turned down, of course).
