It means getting to the parks about 20 minutes early and entering as the park opens. They used to let guests into the park and stand at a rope. Once open, the CM's would drop the rope and everyone would rush to the rides. Now it is just park opening (MK has a short show at RD). Basically, getting to the parks at "Rope Drop" allows you to get on a lot more attractions since it is normally not as busy in the early hours.
On our last two trips Ak, HS, and Ep all let us in a few minutes before the posted park opening. It the opening was at 9 they let you in at about 8:50 or so. So get there early.
Can you point me toward those threads? I can't seem to find them.
I know that DHS dropped the show and Rope Drop a couple of years ago. It used to be like the running of the bulls. Some disgraceful behavior. Then they just let people through the turnstiles which was so much better.
I haven't been at DHS in awhile at RD is the actual rope drop and walk to the rides still gone?
