Rope Drop

Peter Pan. They have a new interactive area in the queue that you miss if you use a FP and the lines for PP get long fast.

Thanks! That really helps! That is one we always FP for so I would have never known this! Thank you!!!:)

Our experience is based on crowd levels of 8. If you want to be right up front at one of the tunnels, go at 8. You're likely to be in shade. You may not be able to see the welcome show though. 8:15 gets you behind a few layers of ppl at the tunnels, but still good, and you can see the welcome show at an angle. If you don't care to be one of the first at the tunnels and want to see the welcome show from the center, it's not as important to get there that early.

My wife and I are going to do Rope Drop at least once on our next trip. We would like to see the opening ceremony but we are not planning on doing the mad dash to 7DMT due to slight mobility issues. So we are OK following the horde slowly or taking the train to head for BTMRR and Haunted Mansion. Should we hang out in the middle assuming that most folks will position themselves towards the two tunnels??
Yes, you will have more elbow room in the center and a great view of the show. I did this once on our trip. The rest of my family waited at the tunnel and hurried to Space Mountain first thing. I don't ride Space, so I waited in the center, filmed the welcome show and then entered the park after the commando people, I walked leisurely down Main Street soaking in the atmosphere. It was wonderful!!! Made my way over to Space and met up with my family. It was great.
