Rope drop RSR

What is the best strategy for riding RSR without ILL or single rider? My mum is waiting for new knees, so standing for long periods of time is quite hard for her, but she insists we all ride RSR together at least once! Any ideas?

I also need knee surgery and have mobility issues. My son rented an electric scooter chair. Disney staff gave us priority on rides and there was a separate loading area for RSR. I was able to park the scooter and they assisted me in loading. Then our car was merged with others who didn't even realize we had been given priority. Same thing on Pirates and Small World.

Cars Land is open during early entry for people staying on property. Even though RSR isn't officially open, a decent amount of people will start lining up during early entry. For this reason rope dropping RSR doesn't work well unless you are staying on property and can get in line before the general rope drop. Additionally the ride is prone to break down so it frequently doesn't open at rope drop anyway.

The other option is to try to go late, the line "closes" at 10 PM, but they still let everyone who gets in line by 9:59 ride. The line will be shortest if you get on right before the line closes.

Yeah my mother so won't do that....
We went in August 2021 and had two scooters in our party. We were not given ANY priority. We waited in the same line with everyone else (pre-Genie, so no Lightning Lane at all). There is a separate area to load but that’s so that you exit the vehicle right where you left the scooter. The split to that load area is where they ask how many in your party, so you’re not jumping any part of the line. If your mom is bothered by the thought of “priority”, I get that. In my experience though, there wasn’t any priority.

Honestly, I would just ILL. If that is the only ride you do an ILL, maybe it is not too cost prohibitive? Any other option is going to require waiting in a long line, going SR, or getting a DAS. RD is not a great option, unless you have hotel guest EE and use that time just to stand in line until RSR opens at regular park opening time (IF it opens at park opening), as OP said. Maybe you can ILL this ride and save money elsewhere in the trip if this is the priority for your Mom.

Yeah it might come to that, we'll have to see when we get there, I know it really is important to her that we all ride together at least once.

I agree this is the best strategy in your case....
