We are doing MK on a party Sunday, CL 4. We have a group of 10 including 4 under age of 4. So we are not traveling light by any means. We have FP for all of us on Peter Pan but our window is pretty close to the FOF parade and I am afraid we will risk getting a curbside spot. No FP available to move it earlier. How crazy is rope drop crowd heading to Peter Pan? We will not be able to jostle for position, walk quickly or any of that jazz. And we will have to park two double strollers and get babies out. I don't want to give up our FP if the rope drop attempt will cause us to wait much longer than 10 or 15 minutes at PP. We would rather just head back to Ariels Grotto and Undersea like our original plan.

At rope drop i did the mine train first then went to peter pan which was a 15-20 minute wait.

I was a single tourist.

Most people headed to Fantasyland at RD are headed to 7dmt/A&E. So, there will be a big crush of people headed in that direction, but you will have no issues getting on PP.

And even if there is a modest wait, it will just make it easier for you to enjoy the new queue, which you may not have seen yet. Take your time with that one - especially the clever "shadows" effect.

Be there at rope drop. Walk at a speed comfortable for the youngsters. You will be fine.

And cancel the PP FP if you don't expect to keep it.

I agree be there for rope drop and you should have no issues with PP at all. We always do 7DMT at rope drop and immediately head to PP after that and it's always been either a walk on or just a few minutes wait. You might want to be on the left side tunnel for PP at rope drop along with the Anna and Elsa people. I'm afraid if you are on the right side with all of the 7DMT people you will have to cut left and that might make it trickier especially with a large party.

I was going to say the same thing! The Peter Pan queue is so cool you'll actually want a 20-25 minute line to enjoy it properly.

Most will be heading to 7DMT or A/E, so the crowds will be large. But you won't have any trouble once you get to PP.

We have done the mine train walk several times. I agree with this. We do a Baby swap, so after my family joins the line there and I get the baby swap, Baby and I have traveled over to PP without issue. There is a wait of at least 20 minutes or so. Once my family is done with Mine train, though, the line is over 30 minutes and they opt to not wait for that. The actual time is different every time--but always over 30 by the time they are done.
(note that we aren't the quickest to get to Mine train, so other observations may differ.)

We always do PP at rope drop because there's too many other things we want to FP. We walk there at a normal pace, park the stroller, and get in line. I don't think we've ever even "stood" in the line until we're almost at the loading area. Pretty much just walk through.

Tuesday this week they let people in early. We were a couple minutes late because the resort monorail was late. We got through the gate at 9:03 went straight to PP and it was like a 10 minute wait.

The new standby queue is pretty entertaining for a child. A 15 to 20 minute wait first thing would be perfect to check out the queue. If you use your FP+, you'll miss seeing the enhancement.

It was really entertaining for me as well. I would skip the FP just to enjoy it.

Wow what great advice everyone! I wish I had asked this before I made the FP, I would have tried for ETWB instead of PP. We arent doing any of the coasters so we like to focus on character meets and quick rides in the morning to get the most done that we can before lines get long. I added the PP FP because I was under the impression that line got huge right away too. And now ETWB is unavailable for FP and I would hate to waste so much early morning time on that one attraction.

You can do ETWB or you can do it first and then head over to Pan so you have a small wait to enjoy the queue. If you're there right away, you will zip through the line without being able to enjoy it and you'll feel like you have to zip through too even though you don't.

If you're sure you're going to give up your FP for Pan, you can try to overlap your 10 FPs for something else. There may not be 10 FPs that start all at the same time but there may be a a combination of FPs so that all 10 of you have a part of your FP window that overlaps. Say: Group 1 has 9:10-10:10, Group 2 had 9:35-10:35 and Group 3 has 10:00-11:00, ALL OF YOU can enter the line at 10:00.

We have found if you can get to Peter Pan in the first 10 minutes or so after rope drop you are good. Most of the crowd will head to 7DMT, A&E or ETWB first. After that first 10 minutes, the line starts to build up pretty fast. You should be fine at a normal pace getting back there. In our experience, the lines don't build up nearly as fast at Ariel's ride or Ariel's grotto, so you should definitely head to PP first. We have gone straight to PP at a normal pace, waited less than 5 minutes and then gone back to walk on the Ariel ride and after that to go see Ariel with just one family in front of us. With 4 under 4, I would also keep trying to move that PP FP+ to a better spot- things might open up. When DD was under 5, PP was her favorite and she wanted to ride it over and over. Those days it was before FP+, so we could just pull FP for it multiple times in a day. Now, for toddlers who like to repeat rides, it is a lot more tricky.

In the summer with high crowds we were able to meander to PP and only have a 15 minute wait. We stopped for potty and to get sorcerer of the magic kingdom cards on the way and still had no trouble with a long line. It was just long enough to see the new stuff, which is what we wanted.
