During the holidays, does anyone have any tips for what time to arrive at the Mickey & Friends lot (or other parking suggestions) to Rope Drop? Would love to be there - even if not at the front ;) Thanks!

Would be sad to get up at the crack of dawn and spend Rope Drop in the parking or security line ...

I haven’t done rope drop, but typically I alot 30 min from arrival at the structure to being off the tram.

One tip I actually got on here from another poster (forgot who it was!) is to go to the far right lane in Mickey and Friends. It usually has an “all lanes open” sign that you can then go a further 2 lanes into the structure and be right at the booth, bypassing oodles of cars. I did this last Sunday and went from arrival to park in mere minutes. The line was a dozen cars deep except for that little right hand secret pocket.

It has been a while since I parked in the structure. Last time I did (April 2017) we arrived pretty early. I dropped my family off at the rideshare drop off on Harbor so that they could go through security and get in line at the turnstiles ahead of me, then I went to park in the structure. After taking the tram to the esplanade, I joined my family near the front of the line at the turnstile and we proceeded to rock the rope drop.

The other drop off option would be on the Downtown Disney side. Either should work in theory, and should allow your family to get to the gate well before you can with parking.
