hi there!

I've posted here before but out trip is only 3 weeks our!

DH and I are tent camping, and while we have the camping but covered we aren't familiar at ALL with FW transportation--as ones to use it, I mean.

It seems the only way to make rope drop at MK is to take the boat to the CR and walk--is this true?

Also, how hard is it to figure out what bus runs from the 1500 or 2000 loops to the boat dock?

Last question--How hard is it to get BACK to your site FROM the parks?

We are spoiled to walking to the front of the resort and catching the bus 2 hours early!

Sorry if these are dumb questions but I am the over-prepare type :)

You can make rope drop by taking the MK boat which starts running 30 minutes prior to park opening. We actually did it twice in November. Now we did arrive with little time to spare before the show began. By arrive I mean off the boat and through security and the front gate. So it can work well but doesn't always. If you want to be in place for rope drop earlier, than I'd take the boat to and walk from the contemporary.

When boarding the internal bus, the driver will ask where you are going. All the busses go to the outpost and the settlement. The different colored routes just go through different areas of the campground. Check out the map for the fort to see the different routes.

To get back, you'll want to board an internal bus that would go through your section of the campground. I don't have that map right in front of me. Again, you'll tell the bus driver which loop you want to get off at.

I forgot that the welcome show has changed though. I wonder if the boat is leaving earlier now? Guests are now being let in to shop and eat on main street before the park's official open time and the welcome show is now in front of the castle. Someone maybe has an experience to report from this week as Monday was the first day for that.

This morning we took the launch over to the CR and walked to MK. They were letting guests in and you could go to the front of the castle or stand at the entrance to the lands and then follow the line of cast members to the attractions after the show. Last week we tried taking the boat directly to the MK and missed the opening.

Hi, I was wondering if I could piggy back on this thread with a question?

If the boats don't run until 30 minutes before park opening, if you have a pre park opening ADR in Magic Kingdom (8:15 am, when opening is 9) how could you get there?

The boat to the Contemporary starts running at 6:45 so take that one and then walk to the Magic Kingdom.

Uber from Ft. to MK for Rope Drop? Possible?
Not sure if Uber can pick you up at your site or if you meet them up front. For MK, you can't get dropped off right at the park. You'll still have to get the ferry from the transportation center or get dropped at contemporary and walk over. Doesn't seem like you'd be much better off then just taking the boat from the fort.

Uber couldn't go to your site. The best way is the boat to CR and the short walk on the path to MK.
