I don't know if this has been noticed by other members, rooms with a decent view are becoming harder to obtain, reason being TREES?? As the plants & trees become more & more established particularly at Saratoga the views from the rooms become increasingly blocked. We recentley had a top floor Downtown view which 2 years ago would have been great, now it is completely blocked by the growth of the shrubbery around the window. I know this is nobodys fault but worth pointing out.

This might get more commentary over on the US DVC board. I'll move it with a redirect if you like.

As to your point, I agree. I've noticed this at many resorts including many Marriott properties. They both use extensive landscaping and once it begins to mature the views change.

Generally I ask for upper floors to escape as much of that as possible. But sometimes, such as at VWL it is actually very relaxing to have the mature foliage for a view.

This has been a grumble of mine too. If you get a villa at OKW on the ground floor, you can virtually be in the dark all day! Obviously only a few of them are that bad, but I did contact Customer Satisfaction a few years ago about this.

I know how important the landscaping is but I feel that you should have good daylight at EITHER the front or the back window (studio), not necessarily both. I got a nice phone call ..... we take our members' comments seriously ..... yada yada ..... and since then it hasn't happened, but I'm sure it's just been luck :).

The first time we went to Saratoga we had a ground floor studio with a view of a hedge right next to the fire exit !! Fortunately we only stayed there to sleep so didn't get to sit outside.

I love the Turtle Pond area.. which I always request and so far the 4 times I requested there was availability :) Very calming... dont like the 1st floor in this area though I always ask for 2nd floor...

Hi... SSR.. so far have been lucky when I ask at check in for anything available... the bldg for 1247 is great... 2101 and 2151 going up are great this are end units also which is perfect for the ice machine and venidng machine...

for AKV Jambo... love the Ostrich trail... good view close to the elevator :)

Hope this help...

Last time we went we had a "pool view" at BWV. Misrepresentation is the right word here. We have a "pool glimpse" and nothing more - because of the trees.

While there are no specific views at VWL, we got a great view 2 weeks ago. While most rooms probably only have woods view there, in front of our room, there was an opening in the trees so we had a nice view of Bay Lake as well.
