DH insists that I should be able to tell them when I book that I want the rooms together. I have explained numerous times that there is no guarentee. I'm planning on booking three studios. DH wants to know what the chances are that the rooms would be together. I know they can't be next to each other but I just don't want to be spread over the whole resort. I'm also hoping to be able to get 3 studios at AKL. If I have to waitlist is there anyway they can only change the resort if all three become available? I've never had a problem getting AKL at 7 months but I've never tried to get multiple rooms.

I don't know about the waitlist thing- I haven't ever waitlisted but it is my understanding that if you register as a grand gathering (need 8 or more people over 2) then your rooms are more likely to be close to each other.

I wouldn't count on the studios being together. I've tried on 3 seperate occasions in 2000, 2006, and 2008 to get villas together or at least near each other when booking for larger groups (15-28) with all villas booked at the 11 month mark and that being the only request. ( It also didn't seem to make a difference when being a grand gathering.) Sometimes being seperated by a hall/floor or two can be a good thing to give everyone their "space" and time apart from one another. It doesn't matter; you're at WDW and will have fun!

Since the floor layout at most of the DVC resorts do not have three studios together, it would be doubtful that you can get your request. Most DVC resorts are arranged so a studio and 1 BR are next to each other so they can be reserved as a 2 BR lockoff. You might be able to get your three studios on the same floor, but they could be several doors apart.

I would request that the studios be near each other, but understand that it may not be a practical request.

Here's a link to a thread where TSMIII shows the floor layouts for AKV. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1783357

We had a 2BR and a studio for a trip last August with friends. We stayed at VB and BCV. My only request was that we were as close as possible to each other. At VB we had only one room between us. At BCV we were on the same floor but no where near each other. I appreciated the effort at both resorts to honor our request.

Probably a lot harder to get 3 studios together.

It depends upon what you mean by the rooms being together. When we've booked 3 rooms at OKW, we requested they be near each other. We had two studios in one building, on different floors (one directly above the other) and the 3rd room in the building next door. Convenient enough to coordinate plans and meet for meals, and far enough apart that each group had their share of privacy from the others. It worked ou fine.

At AKL, you may be in the same wing of Kidani, but maybe on different floors.

We are at Boardwalk right now and family is next door. I sent email requesting we be near each other and did online check in. We have the deluxe studio with the small daybed (not requested). Neither room connects, so cannot be made into a 2 bedroom.
Good luck to you.

Boardwalk does not have dedicated 2 bedrooms, all are lockoffs. However, there are alot of dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms so you are more likely to find studios together there. Most of the rooms facing the Village Green are dedicated studios.
