Several times I have noticed that people have gotten rooms at the value resorts for around $50. How do you get that low a price? Both times I have stayed at Pop, we've had to pay almost double that. :confused3

In the last month or two several people were getting the AllStars for around $36/night, but they were bidding on Priceline I believe, and there was no guarantee that AllStars would be their winning hotel. There were some tips posted about how to have a "better" chance of winning AllStars. Also, I think the cheaper rates that you mentioned were probably the result of an annual pass discount in or around value season.

Most people that have gotten them for $49 per night plus tax were annual passholders or florida residents and these were for value season dates. Regular season or peak season were higher priced

We got the $49 a night rate this last January at Pop Century with the Annual Pass discount.

Like mentioned above, I paid $49 a night (before tax, of course!) in January for a standard room at POP. It was the annual pass discount, for a quiet non-holiday week (not near New Years or Martin Luther weekend). I even got the discount for a seven night stay - what a great bargin! :)

I had that rate...with NO discount back in '99! 5 night stay @ ASM was 245.00.

WDW use to give some REALLY good cheap rates during off-season....That has all changed in the past 2-3 years! :sad1:

We got 36$$ through price line for All Star Music and SPorts

Lately even the 49/night hasn't been around. It seems as if it has gone up to 59 or more a night during value season at the values, with the AP discount.

I have read where some folks have bid on priceline for 1 night, putting in all the info that might get them a disney resort. When they find out where they are staying if it is a disney resort, sometimes they have been able to add a few days at that rate to their stay.

Just remember that you are bound to pay for whatever you get, maybe all stars for $36 :thumbsup2 , maybe Days inn suites :sad2:

We got All Star Sports for $46 per night in Sept. '05 with govt. employee rate! :cool1:

Just curious I am a state government employee, was your trip part of business or personal trip? Did you book through a travel agent, online, or by phone? Did they request any govt. id when you checked in? I have never used that before, I don't really travel for my job, but if I could use it for personal trips that could come in handy.

Thanks

This was not a work-related trip and we booked the room through Disney on our own. We just had to show DH's DOD ID upon checkin. Don't know if we will ever be so lucky again! This discount allowed us to visit Mickey two times last year...

We stayed at the Poly Jan 2005 for our 10th anniversary on an AP rate. We were having so much fun, that dh decided he wanted to extend the vacation another few days (and who am I to argue?). When we checked at the front desk, they had rooms available for the next 3 or 4 nights, and gave us our AP rate. We were told that it's customary when adding days to extend whatever rate you had been paying, regardless of the current rates. Sounds like that's even true of priceline rooms! Of course, it's all dependant on room availability.

When we stayed at All Star Movies in Feb 2005 we paid $ 55.00 a night.
We booked at $77.oo a night, then in Nov I called and asked for a cheaper rate and got it down to $55 a night!
