Ok I am a nut now trying to understand everything and we are booking our cruise through Disney Vacation Club. The category we picked is Category 4, Deck 8, and Rooms 8050 thru 8076 or Rooms 8550 thru 8580. Anybody have any information or advice about this stretch of rooms? What are any pros and cons you may have?. Also I have read that there are bath and a halfs as well as 2 baths. The pic on the Disney Cruise site only shows either one or two - no 1 1/2's. I would love to have a bath and a half if it means it has two commodes!!! Got a weak stomach and this trip is going to be an adventure for me I'm sure! Thanks for any help you can share with me.

When are you cruising? We're cruising in a month in 8076.

Hi Big and To, Thanks for the comments. We aren't cruising until May 2004 hopefully. I haven't booked it yet because we are trying to figure many things out before I make the big move. I'm looking forward to hearing your comments after your cruises. Happy Sailing and enjoy yourselves to the max!! Lynn

The Cat 4's only have the split bath, not a bath an a half....I think the higher categories like a Cat 3, 2, 1 have more than one commode, but the Cat 4's just have one.

We have stayed in them 3 times and they are very nice. How many are travelling in your party. If you have 5 then the only drawback is at night when the attendant sets up the beds, the Murphy bed that comes out from wall lays in front of the verandah door. You have to climb over the bed to get to the verandah. It was a minor annoyance but did not really bother us all that much. If you only have 4 people in the room you do not need to worry about the 5th bed then.

We were in 8576 last November and have rebooked the same room when we cruise this November. I loved the location! You are just a couple doors away from the elevators and the stairs that lead up to the pools, Topsiders and the drink station. It was so convenient to run up the stairs to get something to drink or breakfast in the morning to eat on the verandah while the kids were still sleeping. The only very minor negative to the room was the sounds of scraping chairs and sometimes voices we heard as they set up the deck in the morning and the automatic window cleaner that sprayed through upstairs every morning. Both were just something that we noticed, very minor noise.

There's a split bath in the room, but only one commode, two sinks. Splitting the bath makes for two small rooms but it is convenient and I'm sure we will appreciate it much more as the children get older and primp a bit more.

I was prepared from reading the board for the murphy bed blocking the verandah when it was opened. We found the only way we could enjoy the verandah while the kids slept in was for my husband to sleep there and me to sleep with one of the kids in the bed. Doesn't make for the most romantic trip but with three kids in the room what's it matter. It ended up working out really well and noone was disturbed when we stayed up late or got up early and sat and watched the ocean go by.
