Just curious if anyone has any info or past experience about either of these rooms.

Any opinions would be great! Thanks!

ps...if your wondering...my aunt waited to book (4 months after I did)...so this is the closest we could get together. But at least we're all cruising together! Beats staying at home! *smyle*

We had room # 6578 which is directly across from the laundry. It was great for the convenience of the laundry and we always had that "spring time clean" smell in our room. LOL BUT, I would switch to a different room if given it again. We had kids pounding on our door when Moms and Dads were checking the machines. During the busiest times, we had problems with people blocking our door way and every one always looked in our room when we opened our door...lack of privacy. We ended up stuffing a towel under our door because of the heat generated by the dryers.

We were in 6628,, which is just 2 doors form 6632. We loved the location and had no problem with noise.

happylady, were you in 6578 or 6588. I thought from the passporter and deck maps that room 6588 was the one directly across from the laundry?

We are in 6580 on the Magic in January (our first cruise). If you were having problems across and 5 doors down, I'm concerned being across and only 4 doors down. Although we don't plan on being in the room too much. :)

Has any one else stayed in the general area that can comment?

Thanks.

For what it's worth DH and I just sailed on the 10/23 Magic and we were in cabin 6586, one room down and across from the often discussed and much dreaded laundry room.

We didn't notice any problems with traffic, noise, heat, humidity, storm clouds forming in the halls because of the combination of air conditioning converging with the warm, moist laundry room air, or toxic mold formations caused by trapped moisture. :p

I was concerned about our proximity to the laundry room before we sailed but once we were on board and on our way I realized that this is something that has really been blown out of proportion. Don't worry about it - you are going to have a great time no matter where your cabin is located.

Happy sailing!!

I am so happy to hear you say that because we have connecting rooms on the Wonder across from the laundry. I really don't want to give up these connecting rooms, so I've decided not too worry too much about the location.

Glad you didn't have any problems! I'm just not going to worry about it!

Thanks!

:D

We spent two weeks in 6632 on the Magic....the only problem we had was with the sliding glass door. It would get stuck alot, making it a workout to get the door open or closed. DH figured out all you have to do is pull the door towards you just a bit and it slid open and closed with no problems. (we did note it on the comment card, but it just may be how it works!)

The side thrusters (I assume that is what they are) could get loud when docking early in the morning, but the only time I noticed them was when we docked in Port Canaveral both times....maybe because that is the only time we docked at a dreadful hour!

The room is located nice and close to the aft stairs, making the trip up to deck 9 and the food quick and easy, also the secret deck 7 overlook was just one flight of stairs up! The other good thing is that your lifeboat drill is in AP, so no standing single file on the deck sweating like last time...nice seats in air conditioning is great!

We loved the room, we rebooked it for our 2006 cruise! It always amazes me how nice the rooms look with all the constant use they get!

Does anyone know if either of these are connecting rooms?

I know they're not connecting to each other  , but are they connecting rooms?

I looked on the DCL website...but print isnt clear enough (or maybe I'm just not reading it right) haha.

Thanks Again!

We stayed in 6580 on the Wonder and loved it. The location was convenient and we had no noise from the laundry. We've booked 6580 for the 6/24/06 Magic:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

If you are wanting to know if there is the "dreaded door" to the stateroom next to you in 6632, there is not! If you look on the DCL website, any room marked with a triangle is a connecting room.... if I remember correctly, the top of the triangle points to the room it shares a door with....

it looks like neither room has a connecting door. and 6588 is directly across from the laundry so you will be good there. There is another room directly across from both rooms. We were in 6088 and loved the location (just on the port side). have a great time.

HEY, that was my room!!!
Really liked the location, very little traffic and convenient to the restaurants and deck 9.

We were near the laundry on Deck 7 in August and will be near it again on Deck 6 in 2006. Like the location a lot and never had any laundry-related problems at all. Very convenient for throwing in a load anytime or ironing when the crowds aren't around (if you're into that). It will change the way we pack next time for the better. Don't sweat it, I'm sure you'll like the location too.

First cruise we were very far Forward on Deck 5 - it was quiet and we loved our room but in retrospect it seemed kind of far away from everything compared to our later room. You can run right up or down the stairs to go almost anywhere from your location which is especially handy if you're running late for dinner. ;) The Aft elevators often are crowded at busy times and require a wait -this way you can just take the stairs very easily.
