Room we wanted booked already :(

Well can I book through someone else and still get the magic your way package?

What are you trying to get with the package?

If you do a DVC rental (either through a company like David's or through a member individually), you can get on the dining plan but you have to pay for it. DVC members don't get free dining.

You can get the free Magical Express airport transportation with a DVC reservation.

I don't recall being able to buy tickets with a DVC reservation, but maybe that's because it's always been cheaper to get on the Mousesavers email list, wait for the monthly newsletter, then click on the link to buy tickets from Undercover Tourist at a discount. Does Disney have a ticket discount going on now? I haven't been paying attention.

If you're a "make one call to the Disney central reservations office and have it over and done with" style of planner, then you might not want to bother with renting DVC points.

You don't get daily housekeeping if the reservation is made through DVC. I don't know if that matters to you.

DVC one-bedroom villas have a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. As someone mentioned, you don't get that in a non-DVC suite.

I believe the one-bedroom villas at Bay Lake Tower have 2 bathrooms. That is not the case in the one-bedroom villas at some of the other DVC resorts. I don't know how many bathrooms the hotel suites have.

I really don't think even if you rent from an owner that you are likely going to get what you want for early December at BLT at this point. its basically the most popular time for DVC members to go.

Well Villa/Suite whatever they are. We want a 1 bedroom something. And yes we did stay in the Bay lake tower last Feb and we booked our hotel only a few months before we went and I think I literally got the last one because our friends tried right after and there were no more. I am thinking we are just going to go with a suite at the main building despite the cost. They look super nice and we just dont want to give up the walk to MK. To be able to walk to days to a park rather than use the transportation is really nice. We really enjoyed that last year.
It's not "whatever they are". People are trying to help you but they can't if they don't understand what you are looking for.

BLT only has villas. CR only has suites. If you want a villa, then you want BLT. If you want a suite, then you want CR. CR is not "the main building", although there are 1-bedroom suites in the Garden Wings. CR is a separate resort from BLT.

Since you have decided that getting a suite at CR will be the way to go for your family, make sure that you are aware of the differences between it and the 1-bedroom villa that you had at BLT. You will not have a full kitchen at CR. You will not have an en-suite washer and dryer. But, the Tower Suites are club-level rooms and you would have access to the 14th-floor Tower Club plus the concierge services of IPO for pre-arrival planning.

Well said! :thumbsup2

I am sorry if I sounded rude I didn't intend to. I guess I didn't realize the huge difference between Villa & Suite. We just want a room with a separate bedroom where you can shut the door. To me I just call those suites in most hotels they are suites when they have a separate bedroom weather it has a kitchen it not. That's all we want. I dont mind not having a kitchen. We are just wanting a "suite" or Villa is available but I dont need the full kitchen. I think its just easier for us to book with the package and not worry about trying to get points or renting through someone else. I think we just got lucky last time with scoring a Villa at BLT and it was very nice! I know the other hotels have Villas and suite rooms but we really enjoyed walking to MK.

I think people were thrown off since you sort of said that you wanted what you had before, and if you were in Bay Lake last time, you had a villa. Availability of villas at Bay Lake is different than suites at the Contemporary, so it complicates matters.
