This definately seems like the place where all the Swan and Dolphin experts hang out so hopefully you can help. We are staying at the Swan for our 2nd trip to WDW, first was at WL in 2000. Arriving on Thanksgiving evening with Entertainment rate of $159 plus resort fee/tax.

We would love to have a nice water view, view of the Dolphin or view of Epcot, and I guess a balcony is pushing it but that would be pretty cool too.

We do not belong to any hotel thing with points or anything like that. What are your suggestions for having the best chance of getting a nice view, and do you have a particualr view you would ask for? What is the best way to put in a request other than on the Swan/Dolphin web site?

Thanks!!!

Be careful about asking for a balcony with an EPCOT view. If you get one of the lower floors, all you will see is trees. If you want a view of the Boardwalk, ask for a high floor, Boardwalk view. You can get a high floor on the back side and then have a great view of the canal leading to MGM. A corner room with two large windows would be really nice.....

I always ask for an Epcot view room on an upper floor. And, I'll also ask if there might be anything with a balcony?? In all of my trips, only once was this type of room not available.

The room rate evidently is not a factor, because the very first time I ever stayed at the SD was through Priceline a few years ago. Without asking, we got that very typeof room at the Swan.
We could lay in bed at night and see Spaceship Earth with no obstruction in our view. We also had a balcony.

I always say it never hurts to ask.

Have a great trip and I hope you enjoy the Swan!

You can join the Starwood Preferred Guest program at www.spg.com. It's free, and they will give you the membership number when you join. Be sure to call the Starwood 800 number afterwards and have your SPG number added to your reservation.

I read a suggestion here that you should whisper your upgrade request at check in, and of course be as charming as possible.
