We are staying at the SL next week. I have booked a standard room, but after seeing pictures of the renovated rooms I would really like one. So what is the best way to ask for an upgrade? Do we pay for it, or do they just give you a nicer room if they have one available? Do I e-mail or just ask when we arrive.

Breakfast-
I read on another thread someone was asking about breakfast delivered to the room at the SL. I would love this, I realize there is an extra charge, but I didn't think that the Sequoia had room service. So is there an option to get breakfast in the room here or not?
Also I have made all of our reservations for meals but keep forgetting to ask about breakfast. We will probably do at least 1 breakfast in the park, do we have to reserve this ahead of time, or when we check in?

B-day?

My dd's 4th Birthday is Dec 19th. We always celebrate on another day for her since it is so close to Christmas. Considering doing a cake at Cafe Mickey for her, but does it have to be her actual b-day? How much does the cake cost, and what do I have to do to set it up? Call the dining reservation?

I didn't think Sequoia Lodge had room service either - I thought it was only available at Disneyland Hotel, Hotel New York and Newport Bay Admirals Floor. :confused3

As far as I know you can't ask for fantasyland breakfast in the park in advance, only when you check in.

Can't help with ordering the cake but don't worry about it not being her actual birthday - you're paying for the cake so it's up to you when you celebrate it. My DD was due on the 19th and I was getting worried about her being late (ie Christmas Day itself) but luckily she arrived a bit early on the 14th.

Thanks Ware Bears. :goodvibes I wish she had been born in a different month. It's hard to have a b-day so close to Christmas. I think starting next year we will just celebrate her 1/2 b-day with the gifts and have the actual cake on her b-day.

Do you celebrate your dd's b-day on the 14th or another day/month?

We got a renovated room in the main lodge for our stay last Friday. Don't think they did room service but the breakfast there was good.

I also had a cake at Cafe Mickey. Costs 25 euros and has to be booked in advance. I had phoned and booked before but when I checked the morning of our booking it hadn't been put on the booking so I was glad I checked.

Enjoy and take lots of warm clothes!!!!!!!

I sometimes used to wish mine had been born in a different month too but it used to bother me far more than it did her! We've always celebrated her birthday on her actual day with a cake but for a few years when she was younger and didn't know how much things cost we didn't give her very much but then made it up to her halfway through the year. As she got older we asked her when she'd like to have her presents and she chose her actual birthday. She's going to be 17 next month and her boyfriend's birthday is the day after hers - another December baby!

I know exactly how you feel on the birthday front! I have 3 children, 2 of which have Birthdays in Dec! My eldest was born on the 9th which I thought was bad enough but then my youngest was due on the 14th and arrived on the 23rd! I really thought he was aiming for Xmas Day.

He's not had a birthday yet so Im not sure how it will feel but my daughters birthdays have always been kind of nice, being so close to Xmas. We took her to Gullivers World one year and that was nice.

This year, like you we are having a birthday cake in Cafe Mickey! Need to get it booked though so we can get in there! :wizard:

Hope you have lovely time!
