I booked a GV Polynesian room using the PIN 40% off before the March 31 date. I tried to do concierge level but no rooms were available. I was told to keep checking in case there were cancellations. I called a couple times before March 31 and none were open. I looked online and they show LV concierge for my dates- I called to see if I could upgrade using the discount since the original reservation was made before the deadline. I was told "no" but wondered if anyone has ever done this? Does it depend on the person you get or is it a firm "no" with whoever I get? Is it worth it to keep calling and see if someone else gives me a different answer?

Thanks for any help!

I think there's a limited # of rooms made available for the discounts. So, just because there are rack price rooms available on the web site doesn't mean that there are discounted rooms available in the category you want.

Others have posted that AAA discounted rooms go back into the rack rate inventory when they are cancelled. If that's true, and if that is also true for the other PIN code discounts, I'm not sure why they would tell you to even call back and check for availability later once they were all booked.

But clearly, I don't know all the ins and outs of the reservation rules, so who knows?

I agree with the previous poster that it must be a limited # of rooms at the discount. I had the same problem but in reverse: wanted to use my 40% off for standard view WL but neither standard or woods view were available at 40% off so I booked CY view (not complaining, still a great deal). They were however, still available on the website at full price!!

Also interesting, I have seen certain room categories online, then disappear (not available) and then return again. This may be cancelations, or maybe they hold rooms and release later!!:confused3

Have a great trip either way!!

could you tell me what the rate is at the poly when you have a 40% discount? are these discounts only for a certain time of year? like the low season or hurricane season?

i really want to stay there again. i had a disney club member discount when i stayed there last time in 1999. the disney club doesn't exist anymore.:sad1:

As one poster said it could be for your code there are no more rooms at that rate. Even though it is showing on the web site. They only allow so many rooms for discounts. Sad but true :sad2: But keep on calling never know what will turn up :goodvibes

The 40% off is off the rack (full) rate in effective at the time of booking. These discounts are mailed out with a pin to people I believe randomly, from their mailing list and are not transferable. They seem to go more to people who have not been to Disney in a while (like me, so I will probably never get another!!)

They were for alot of different dates but I think all value seasons.

To get on the mailing list, I requested the DVD, I think that is how I got it!

Thanks for the replies! I figured I was out of luck. Might try when we get there and see if they will move us and take the 40% off- never know! We hadn't been since 2003 and got the PIN in a flyer which I almost threw away. I hadn't planned on going- now a lot of money later we are staying at the Poly GV...not doing dining because we know we are better with the 40% since our boys wouldn't eat the food off the adult menus (wish they had a "tween menu or items to choose from). Debating the ME and a towncar service who I can't name. I just want to do a grocery stop- know I can do the ME and get delivery also.

I appreciate the help!

Off topic, but I agree, they should have a tween menu. I decided against the plan, good deal for myself and husband and 4 yo son ($10), but $38 for my 12 and 10 daughters (one who only eats kid menu type food) is too much$$$$!

Enjoy your stay!!!
