We bought AKV resale after staying at the resort prior to any knowledge of DVC....are there AKV room tours ? If so, how do I book one. I'd like to see the different rooms.
I'm surprised that they would take their time to do so since they aren't selling AKV anymore and the OP just bought resale. It's like asking a car dealer to take you on a test drive while waiting for your car to be delivered from another dealer.
there's no harm in asking. they will try to accommodate you if they can. but as bill says, it's not really their job...but they historically will try to help as a courtesy anyway (if they have the time to do so).
We are members and we are staying in a one bedroom value at Jambo. We walked over to the DVC podium at Kidani because we wanted to see the difference between the value and standard one bedroom. He took us to the model and let us look around. It was a model of a two bedroom lock off. He was very nice.

They have an open model at the Boardwalk, which they aren't actively selling anymore either. They keep a grand villa on reserve at SSR, along with rooms at VGF and BLT. They want to be able to advertise the system.

The model at the Boardwalk is interesting to me. I sort of get it, lots of non-DVC traffic due to the high number of restaurants, proximity to the Swan and Dolphin, etc. But it's still weird to me to say come visit our model for a resort we haven't been selling in 15 years!
I get it that it's the opportunity to see the "concept" of what DVC is and you get the options without the exact floor plans. We visited this model during a visi once and gave the guides a hard time. Their advertising says trade up to more space (or something similar) and whatever they were actively selling/promoting at the time was actually less square footage than what we own We kept saying we'd be trading down.
