Room size questions...

I am hoping one of you can help me verify some information...

I have read that the "straight walled" category 8 staterooms do not have the steamer trunk for storage. Can anyone actually verify this? If so, what stateroom number were you in, and what sort of storage did it have? Anyone ever been in one that had it and also one that didn't? The DCL reservationist knew nothing about this when I asked...

Also, I have heard that the Cat. 8 rooms on deck 7 are a little bit smaller than those on decks 5 and 6. Is there any truth to this rumor as well? Again, the DCL folks had never heard of this before.

One more thing... the other unverified tidbit is that cat 6 (deck 6) rooms have a slightly larger verandah than cat 5 (deck 7) rooms. Has anyone ever had both and noticed a difference? (thanks Budwmn!)

We've been in an 8 several times. Sometimes they have the steamer trunk, sometimes not. It doesn't matter which deck you are on--they are the same size except that some of them have the little "cut out" in the wall where they put the trunk.

Sorry, after 11 cruises, I don't remember stateroom numbers......

i believe we were in room 7012 the forward part of the ship and we did have the trunk for storage. i never heard of the cabins on deck 7 being smaller than on the other decks for the cat. 8. ours was quite comfortable and we had 4 people in it.

We were in 6018 and 6016 a few weeks ago and they both had the steamer trunk. Just got our confirmation today for 7012. Glad to know that it will have a trunk.

I read in the Passporter that Cat. 5 verandahs were slightly smaller than Cat. 6's. I don't know if that would affect the size of the Cat. 8's on Deck 7. (good question ljm). Anyone know the answer???
