Room Service Question

I have read on this board that people ordered cheese & crackers & pitchers of lemonade to keep in the room. When I got my documents, it said room service is included except for drinks & snacks. Did anyone get charged for the cheese & cracker tray & lemonade?

We ordered cookies and cheese and cracker trays on our cruises and only tipped the delivery person.

By snacks, I believe they mean packaged foods, like popcorn, chips etc.

And by drinks they mean sodas and alcohol. Water, tea, coffee, juice, milk, etc. is no additional charge through room service.

Mention of a tip for the room service - how much does one tip?

we usual tip $3.00-$5.00, depending on how heavy the tray is - LOL

Cash. There's no way to sign for a tip for room service. We tipped $5 for breakfast, $2 if we got a cheese tray. Didn't really need anything else!

We just got back from the 1/4 cruise on the Magic and we ordered pitchers of ice water and glasses of apple juice on a nightly and afternoon basis.....We received no extra charges for our room. Just tipped the deliverer $1 or 2 when they would bring stuff. We also requested on one occasion that our cheese and crackers tray only be filled with cheddar cheese and this did not pose a problem at all! It was great!

Ok... now I'm just plain curious since we never ordered this.... What kind of cheeses usually come on the tray?

The regular cheese tray is usually a few slices of cheddar, swiss, brie, blue cheese, etc. It also came with crackers and a bunch of grapes.

Just a note though.....I ordered the cheese and cracker tray and a glass of lemonade on the 1/4 cruise and was charged 2 bucks for the lemonade. I questioned the deliverer and he said there was a charge because it was a special kind of lemondae. I had never heard of this...I said I thought the lemonade was free, like up on Deck 9 and he said I would have had to request the free lemonade to get it. I was standing in my robe so I was not about to argue the point at the time....just beware when you order lemonade that you want the FREE stuff. The lemonade he brought did definately taste different, not better, just different.
