Room Reservations

Has anyone had several people book rooms for the wedding outside of your wedding website and all that stuff? My future mother-in-law just told me last night that she booked through the WDW website rather than our wedding website because it was cheaper (not sure how that worked). I should get the reservation numbers from her and anyone else who books outside and give them to my EM, right? Thanks!

Yes you are correct. You give the reservation numbers to your em and it will count towards your room minimums!

I thought WDW Brides were meant to be getting a discounted rate through the Website?

They should be getting a discount. That's why I was confused as to how she was getting it cheaper on the Disney website. Maybe she was confused, since it actually sent her to the Disney website. Who knows!

I havn't had anyone try to book rooms yet but my sales manager did explain to me since my wedding is next year, the rates have not yet been posted for 2007. The discount rates in our contract will not change even if the rates increase. So she explained that if even if the rates look cheaper elsewhere including the disney website, eventually they will increase and your guest, if they book through the website already, will eventually get a call telling them the price increase for next year. SHe told me you can usually expect about 4% increase, so its to thier benefit to book through your website to get the discount rate.

People with DVC, AP Passes, live in FL could get a better rate then what the wedding rate is. I rented points for a DVC as well as my sister and we gave the reservation # & that counted towards our minimum.

Is it for AKL? If so then the wedding rate is most likely savannah view room and the rate your FMIL is getting could be for standard?

Also - your website includes tax and the disney site doesn't until you get near the end of the process.

OK- did you guys get options as far as your room views? You are talking about standard vs Savannah view at AKL, I was just given standard rooms? I am confused-

Also I am not sure how it would be less expensive either unless like someone said AP or Fl res. Huh? Unless she has a cast member friend....we did that for my mom at the same place that we are staying...I just give my EM the confirm #
