Room reservations and dinning question

We have a room reservation at a value resort followed by a Dvc reservation. Can anyone tell me how that works for making dinner reservations plus ten days for the 6 month window? The reservation that we really want falls during the second reservation (DVC) and we want to reserve it as early as we can.

Those are 2 different reservations. Your 180 day window for booking dining starts from the start date of each separate reservation. Hope that helps.

Not good news. I was hoping that since the reservation is straight from one to the next that I would be able to use the first reservation date plus 10.

You can. Disney only uses the reservation in conjunction with the dining reservations to grant the extra 10 day advantage. I just went to the dining reservations page and found that the latest date it would let me book was 7/8/11 without a dining reservation associated with it. I confirmed a June reservation that I had for about 4 nights and the system would then allow me to reserve out to 7/18. Try it with your value reservation and see what the system will allow.

Last year, we had a split stay with just DVC. But, my first reservation # worked to give me a full 10 days from that check in date, even though we were only there for 3 days.

I could make reservations for my entire 6 day stay had I wanted to with just the one reservation #.

So, I think your value reservation should get you the full 10 days!

I've read both situations - where one reservation worked for 10 days worth of ADRs (when the reservation was shorter than 10 days) and cases where it didn't. I haven't booked any 180+ ADRs for quite a while, but that worked for me about a year ago. Since then, I have read both situations, so I don't know what the case is right now.
